The cabin is located on a paved road with all roads paved to the home (there are several routes to the home, but one route is fully paved) . The updated central HVAC system ensures that guests have a cool summer mountain experience or a warm and toasty winter getaway! It is a rarity for a home on Beech Mountain to have central HVAC system! The two indoor fireplaces offer easy push button remote operation for instant heat. Guests frequently comment about how exceptionally clean and well-maintained the home is, and this is a result of the host’s investment in and appreciation of the home.

The interior of the home is painted in a light and bright, modern white, with new hickory wood floors throughout the home. A mosaic tile backsplash is a great addition to the kitchen decor. On-site entertainment/relaxation opportunities include: foosball table, outdoor fire pit, corn hole boards, board games for all ages, children’s toys, family friendly VCR tapes, family friendly DVDs, access to TV programming on smart TVs, two decks with comfortable seating, outdoor grilling on Weber grill, two creeks, and frisbee golf goal.
Deer Trail Lodge is located at 4330 elevation, where cool temps are guaranteed throughout the day in the summer, with temperatures averaging in the 70°s in July and August (rarely gets to 80°) and snowfall is welcomed in the winter. In the fall, guests enjoy a blanket of fall color across the local mountain range in October or early November. While you relax at the fire pit for a night of clear sky star viewing and s'mores, your furry friend can enjoy fetching a ball in the flat, grassed yard.

PET RESTRICTIONS: Guests can bring up to two small indoor, well groomed and bathed/brushed dogs under 30 lbs. each WITH NO pet fee! We do not accept outdoor dogs or larger dogs. (Please send a pre-booking inquiry with questions about the acceptance of your pet). We request that owners honor our owner responsibility policies in consideration that we do not charge a fee for dogs. We kindly ask that dog parents “leave no trace behind” of their furry friends by picking up yard waste, removing all fur and ensuring that no damage to the property occurred during guest’s stay.

We stayed here for MLK weekend. We were a party of 8. The house was beautifully maintained and very clean. It was well stocked. It was an extremely cold weekend, and the house was very warm. Communication with the house agent was very smooth and easy. We would definitely recommend this house!

We had a fantastic stay at this cabin in Beech Mountain over Christmas week! The home was spotless and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. The location was perfect—just a short distance from the ski slopes, which made our daily trips so convenient. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals, making it easy to enjoy family dinners together. We also appreciated that the master bedroom was conveniently located downstairs, which was a great setup for our family. The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, which added to the ease of our stay. One of the highlights for us was gathering around the fire pit in the evenings to make s'mores—such a special memory! The yard was great for our dog, and the peaceful sound of the nearby creeks added to the charm of the property. This home truly exceeded our expectations, and we’ll happily rate it five stars. We’re already looking forward to returning again in the future!

We arrive late at night, so it was a little bit difficult to find the property but directions were very good. Property was very nice with streams on each side which was very delightful. Deer came by one day. We are big fans of the surrounding area so this was a chance to spend a few days there. Thanks for the good experience.

What a wonderful home! This is not just a rental house, but truly a home. Lora has this place set-up for comfort and ease, making the vacation all the more special. And her communication with me ahead of and during the trip was fantastic. It’s stocked with everything you need, they’ve labeled everything and have instructions on how to find and use so many things around the house. Not to mention, even all that you need for the furry friends! The house is tucked back into Beech on a dirt road so it’s a bit remote but it has the BEST backyard, especially for kids and dogs! Mountain homes don’t usually come with this luxury, but it made the trip - awesome fire pit, landscaping and creeks in either side of the property. Truly a wonderful rental experience!

To begin with, this cabin is exactly as pictured, however, pictures do not convey the feeling of welcome when you walk thru the door. From the updated furnishings, the well stocked kitchen, baths and bedrooms, to the local artisan artwork and crafts that are carefully placed throughout, not one detail has been overlooked for the comfort and enjoyment of the guests. Even the dog had everything he needed and more!! The view of wildlife from the elevated deck was amazing. We were fortunate to see a large bear amble down the road in the middle of the day in complete safety We also had visits from many deer, turkeys and groundhogs. We enjoyed a fire in the big backyard fire pit area in comfortable Adirondack chairs. Our group of friends enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the creek so much we only left for a few hours each day to visit Beech Mountain’s restaurants and shops, Coffey Lake Park, Banner Elk and the Bark Park which were all close by. From the moment we received the reservation confirmation to the day of departure, the owner was always available to answer every question or concern we had. She provided information we didn’t know we needed, but it turned out to be valuable in navigating our way to the cabin and throughout the Beech Mountain and Banner Elk areas. We highly recommend this cabin and are all ready planning a return visit for sometime this Fall! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, Lora!

From our initial interest in this property, the owner has been most attentive and most helpful. We decided to take our grandson skiing for the first time at Beech Mountain NC. We are so very thankful to have found the Charter Hills house. Since this was our first house rental experience, we were so very pleased with the owner's assistance and attention to every little detail. She left us a welcome package which completely. took us by surprise. Such a thoughtful treat. I cannot speak highly enough about the house itself. It is magnificent. There are 4 large bedrooms (2 with bathroom), another 1/2 bath, a gorgeous mountian view from every room in the house. A beautiful loft with Foosball table and sitting room. When I say the house had everything. paper products, Laundry/dish soap washer/dryer, full kitchen...ice maker, books about the history of the house and surroundings, shovel(yes, we needed for snow ♡), salt for driveway, 2 fireplaces, a fireplace, etc. I could go on and on.. every room was more beautiful than the other and extremely clean. Thank you Lora for sharing this beautiful home with us. I can't thank you enough for covering every little detail for us. Needless to say I would highly recommend this property to anyone. 5 stars for sure!
