Saranac Lake, New York
Relax on a chaise lounge and gaze at the spectacular mountain view, warm yourself by the fire or fill your day with outdoor activities. The options are many when you stay at Lakeside Pines. (Short-term rental permit number STR 23 06)
Midway between the towns of Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake, the location of our camp offers outdoor enthusiasts access to the Northern and Central Adirondack region. Paddle the St. Regis Canoe area. Hike dozens of state-maintained trails, be they rolling woodland walks or serious uphill challenges. Back at camp, sunbathe, swim off the beach or dock, or take out the row boat and cast your fishing line. From the sun deck, watch loons, kingfishers and heron dive for their dinner.
Launch your boat at Saranac Inn's public boat launch, rent a boat at Hickock's or St. Regis Canoe Outfitters, tie up to our dock and then plan to explore Upper Saranac's many state-owned islands. Tee off at the Saranac Inn or Tupper Lake Country Club.
Everything was perfect. We especially loved being on the water, listening to the loons at night and seeing the stars. The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our family. Wish we booked two weeks instead of one! Will definitely return. Thank you so very much, Jamie and Chris.
Lovely well appointed property in beautiful private setting
Perfect lake front retreat
We enjoyed everything about this property, from the location to all the amenities. The house is wonderfully appointed with Adirondack decor and has a real comfortable lodge feel. Kitchen and dining room were very adequate for all of our meals and family gaming. The screened in porch offers a great indoor/outdoor experience for early morning and evening quiet time as you listen to the abundant loons calling from the lake below. The boathouse and deck right on the water is a great gathering and relaxing spot, to both see and hear looms. The cove is very quiet with little boat traffic as it is tucked away off the main lake body. The picturesque view from the boathouse deck to the mountains across the lake offered a great opportunity for dramatic daily photographs in the constantly changing skies. There is a boat launch at the Saranac Inn, just a short distance from the camp, making it very convenient for bringing a power boat. The Fish Creek camp store is just a short drive away and is a great resource for food, beverages, take-away dining, and so many other necessities you may have forgotten if you shopped at a larger supermarket coming into the area. And, there is also a small liquor store located next to the camp store to save yourself a trip to Tupper or Saranac Lake. If you plan to barbecue be prepared to do it on a charcoal grille. All on all, an excellent property and family vacation experience.
Everything was excellent
Overall it was a very nice place to vacation; plenty of room, lovely location on the water, nice warming fireplace. There were a few minor issues: some dirty dishes in the cupboard, no heat upstairs, hard mattresses except in the master bedroom. An engineer in the family believes there was an airlock in heating system No. 4. There was heat near the pump in the basement but the registers were cold.
We loved the home and location very much. We spent many hours on the sundeck looking at the lake and St. Regis mountain! Great fire pit area. It was close to all the paddling, SUPing , and hiking we like to do! The owners were helpful and had a great amount of information about the property and area which was great! A great spot we hope to stay at again next year.
Our lake experiences, for 25 years, have been scheduled throughout summers, but as our kids become adults, our together-time required flexibility. Christmas to New Years became our challenge so we chose a lake house anyway! Destination? Lakeside Pines! What a treat! Our family’s five-star review speaks to our hosts’ graciousness and their home’s comfort. There is so much more to do in winter at the lake than we imagined and when we came home to a well equipped kitchen, hot showers and a roaring fire, we enjoyed a memorable family experience here. We are a tall bunch so I will only point out the bed sizes - they are small. You will sleep well anyway. Thank you Jamie!
My family spent a wonderful week here! The home was spacious and comfortable with stunning views of the lake, mountains and night sky. The deck on top of the boat house was an awesome place for an autumn picnic. The lake was great for canoeing and seeing loons. We would be very happy to stay here again.
Spotless cabin with everything you need right there. Beautiful ADK themed interior with perfect view of the mountains and lake out the screened in porch , the fire pit or large boathouse deck. The place is obviously well thought out and well designed. Even though it is a beautifully wooded lot, the many large windows bring lots of sunshine into the cabin. Jaime and Chris were very kind and organized! They provided a binder full of useful information and tips and were quick with any communication.
