NOTE: This is a lake view home, but does not have direct lake access.
If you must get a little work in, there are desks and internet access. The loft and oversized leather chair offer a nice place to curl up with a good book. The numerous televisions will insure everyone is able to watch his or her favorite program.
Beautiful Details and Optimal Comfort
The exterior of the home features a combination of wood and stone that fit the mountain location perfectly. It is situated so there are breathtaking seasonal winter views of Lake Lure and the Blue Ridge Mountains from many of the rooms. On the interior, the use of drywall on some of the walls draws your attention to the warm color of the wood and to the home's many architectural details. Additionally, the wood and painted walls combination makes the home more like a hybrid between a warm log cabin and cozy lake cottage, and the mix works together wonderfully.
When you enter through the kitchen, the lightness of the white cabinetry, light-color backsplash tiles with aluminum accents, dark center island, contemporary stainless steel appliances, and gorgeous granite countertops offer the perfect complement to the wood floors and ceiling beams. Just beyond the kitchen is the dining room, with a table that seats 6, that leads to the living area. HAS BOTH A KEURIG AND DRIP COFFEE MAKER.
A wall of windows in the dining and living areas floods the open space with light and serves as an ever-changing gallery of the artwork of Nature. Focal points of the living area are the windows and the beautiful stone fireplace.
Each of the three levels has sleeping quarters, TV, and a full bathroom. On the main level is a bedroom with a king bed and adjoining full bath with double vanity, shower, and jetted tub. You can just step through the French doors to enjoy the deck. There is also a half bath and laundry room on this level. On the upper level is a bedroom with 2 queen beds, TV, and full bath. This level has the desk area. The lower level offers a bedroom with a king bed, TV, adjoining bathroom, and French doors that offer easy access to the outdoors. In addition to the second gas fireplace and gathering space, there is also a queen bed on this level.
Seasonal Splendor
No matter the season, this refined mountain home provides a perfect mountain escape. Stay in the spring when the foliage is beginning to bloom and daytime temperatures average in the 60s. Enjoy your morning coffee on one of the decks or relax away the afternoon in one of the outdoor rocking chairs. Visit in the summer when the weather is perfect—warm but not humid. Unwind with the soothing breezes and views from the porch overlook. With the upper deck outdoor seating and gas grill, enjoy cooking and dining in the fresh mountain air.
Come later in the year when a cozy log cabin feels just right; the autumn colors in this area are breathtaking and the winter weather opens an entirely new view with the leaves absent from the trees. Stay warm by the fireplace or relax in the jetted tub in the king bed suite bath.
The scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and waters of Lake Lure can be viewed from nearly every room in the house. You will even enjoy the sunlight through the large windows throughout the day; the soft orange of sunrise; the warmth and brightness of the midday sun; and the majesty of sunset with its pink and blue hues. Seeing all of this reflected on the lake adds to the ambiance.

*** Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, through the first quarter (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. No personal watercraft will be allowed on the lake during this time. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. For more information about the annual lake drawdown, please contact the Town of Lake Lure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bearmoon. The house was in a beautiful location, sufficiently furnished, clean and easy to get to. House is very roomy and allowed us to spread out, and still have family time. We had a few minor issues and the response was very quick and problem was quickly resolved. I would agree the driveway was VERY steep, but there is an alternative place to park that is also convenient. Our whole experience was very positive and we would rent again.
This is a nice house with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The house it self was in fantastic shape. The deck needs some repairs. There is not much of any views with leaves on trees. It is very close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. I would stay here again.
We had a great time! The house was very nice, clean with plenty of space. Driveway is steep, but we had no issues.
We had our adult children and spouses together for great weekend on Lake Lure. Location of property was real convenient to boat rental, restaurants, grocery store etc... Driveway steep but manageable. House needs a sign with street # on it. We drove right past and went down hill on one lane road (newly paved) Glad noone coming down while we were heading back up to driveway entrance
The cabin was perfect and as advertised. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy the stay. We would definitely rent again if we are in the area.
What a great getaway! The view was beautiful! The house was extremely clean. The hosts were very attentive. The area was charming with great restaurants and lots of opportunities to spend time outdoors. The house is spacious and the beds are comfortable. There was even a pack and play available for small children. My only criticisms were that the balcony had quite a few bees but the host said they reached out to pest control. The bottom bunk bed likely needs to be repaired. We didn’t sleep on it but I had tested it out (as I planned to sleep there) and it felt like the center was missing supports. Fortunately, we had enough beds otherwise so it wasn’t needed. Other than that, we could not ask for a better stay. I hope to revisit soon!
Great “Friendsgiving” with my team. Plenty of room. Secluded & cozy. Driveway would definitely be hard to see at night. We may have just missed it if there is one…but if there isn’t one, an address number at the top of the driveway BEFORE you pass it would be helpful as we missed it on our first try getting there. All over great stay! Will definitely be back
The Cabin was great. The view okay. The trees need to be cut back To be able to see the view off the deck. The driveway is very steep. We had a great time at the Cabin.
we were five sisters youngest age 62 and oldest 77. We could not get our vehicle in the driveway and hand to park on the road and walk down the steps helping the one with a walker. The only other problems other than all the steps was there was no hand rails in the showers. That was a safety issue for some. I know yoou could not help that someone tried to break in and had we not turned on all the lights and scared them off they would have broken in due to no car in the drive. Hope you invest in an arlarm because we think somebody was casing the house. The house was really nice considering all , , ,and the Office personel was very polite and helpful. We will rent from you again but not that house. The Sisters
Driveway to steep Bed In basement needs to be replaced and blanket had a bad odor
We read the reviews so we new what we were getting into. No access to the lake from the house. The drive way is step. We parked at the top of the hill by the trash cans. This house is nice and we did not need for anything. We had a great time.
This was a beautiful cabin in a wonderful location. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!
We had a great stay with friends at this property. In a great location with nice features
House felt like a cozy cabin in the woods, private and quiet. King beds were very comfy and the showers were modern. Other beds didn't get a good review from our guests. View to lake was limited in August, but a great view of the surrounding trees. We signed into our Netflix account to watch Dirty Dancing after a pontoon tour of the lake (in town). Adequate basics in the kitchen (suggest bringing zip lock bags and larger storage containers if needed). Large open area with living room (seated 6), dining are (with large table that seated 6 and large enough for board games!). Convenient to Ingles Grocery store. Laundry facilities were great and on same floor as living area that also included a half bath. Our stay was memorable and comfortable.
The area was great, the house was great, but the view that is advertised is nothing but a view of trees that need to he cut down! We were very disappointed as the view was the main reason we chose this cabin
I have to say considering the price and rigorous pre check-in process I was expecting a bit more from this property. First off we arrived at 3:45 to check in at 4pm (which seemed a little late for me especially since checkout is at 10am) and realized there was no way to safely drive down to the front door. The driveway is in terrible condition and is on about a 45 degree slope. There was one parking space barely big enough for one vehicle at the top of the stairs and another pull off area down the road. After carrying all of our luggage and groceries up the road and down the hill in the rain to the front door we found a sign that said if we attempted to unlock the door anytime before 4pm we would be charged $50. Once we unlocked the door (promptly at 4pm) it was fairly nice inside, although my family and I are from Tn and we have stayed in some nicer cabins for far less money and hassle. The picture that is featured in the listing showing the view of the lake from the porch is a bit misleading. I'm sure that view may exist during the winter months but while the leaves are still on the trees the lake is barely visible. There is no lake access, and there are only 4 chairs on the upper deck for lounging, so there is nowhere on the lower deck to sit. The cabin was clean and spacious and nice for a last minute get away, but next year I will book earlier and pay the same amount for someplace nicer on the lake.
Good, no problems.
Beautiful house with a beautiful view. Clean and kitchen easy to use. But there's zero privacy between the rooms because there's no real ceiling and sound insulation between the main bedroom and the upper bedroom. We literally could have conversations between the different rooms on different floors.
