Ruidoso, New Mexico
The great outdoors in all its splendor is a prime reason to visit Ruidoso, and Bear Paw makes it easy to relish the crisp mountain air, the inspiring views, and the nearby lakes and trails. Not only is the three-bedroom home close to climbing, skiing, fishing, biking, and riding, but it also boasts a huge wraparound deck. Start your morning sipping coffee on an Adirondack chair as hummingbirds chirp among the Ponderosa pines or end your day with a cocktail in hand while you soak in the hot tub. Cook trout you reeled in yourself on the gas grill, then sit down to enjoy it at the deck’s dining table.
As serene and lovely as the deck and its environs are, you do have to go indoors sometime. Happily, the interior of Bear Paw is just as inviting—and because it’s pet-friendly, that means your four-legged friends are welcome too. Decorated in restful neutral tones and natural textures, the living room exemplifies mountain-lodge elegance. The roll-arm leather sofa, the antique-style high-back settee, and the roomy armchairs invite everyone to get comfortable. The stone-surround fireplace will warm you up after a day on the slopes, while the ceiling fan will cool you down after a day on the links. The living room has a large flat-screen TV with cable, as does the downstairs den. Furnished with a sofa, chairs, and a table for playing cards or board games, the den also has its own fireplace. And if you need to catch up on work during your stay (though hopefully, that’s not the case!) you can set up your laptop on the den’s desk and avail yourself of Bear Paw’s free WiFi.
One of the many advantages of staying in a home rather than a hotel is having a full kitchen at your disposal. Bear Paw’s kitchen is so spacious, well equipped, and downright gorgeous, you may want to cook every night. Stainless-steel appliances, plenty of cookware and tableware, a bevy of counter space, and enough storage so that you can stock up on groceries at the beginning of your stay: This
We had a perfect holiday week! Bear Claw does not disappoint. We had family ages 4 mo. to 85 yrs and everyone had a great stay. Beds were comfy, house was spotless and beautifully decorated for Christmas. We had plenty of room, all tools to prepare our feast, and the wildlife was amazing. Deer, elk, turkey, and birds of all types. The porch is awesome and we had stunning views of two mountain snows. We will definitely be back!!
It's nice and open.
The beds were comfortable and the kitchen and everything else was well stocked! Lovely place!
The house was perfect for our stay!
Great property in a quiet area, perfect getaway we were looking for!
Unfortunately, my husband got sick so we left a day early. But, we did get to enjoy the convenience of Door Dash and the comfort of the home. King bed was not the greatest… squeaked every time my husband moved it rolled over. Really on negative for me, there was no fenced in yard. I assumed there would be since it was dog friendly. However, our time was great still. Thank you Bear Paw
Excellent accommodations and amenities very close to everything we wanted to do.
We needed a “middle ground” meeting place for our family & Ruidoso fit the bill. Our search for a cabin that would accommodate all 8 of us landed us at Bear Paw - thanks for multiple accurate pictures!! Only downside was the lack of additional bedding & blankets - better bring some of your own if using during winter.
Bride to be had a fun long weekend in the mountains. The large porch was so relaxing for everyone to sit drink coffee, play games, and see wild life just stroll on by!
This cabin was a perfect stay for the weekend! The cabin was very clean and had all the things we needed to be comfortable. Hot tub was great and we definitely enjoyed the porch area. Only thing that was wrong was the downstairs shower did not come out from the top shower head just the bottom. No big deal there were 2 others to use.
