Don't be fooled by the name, Bear Necessities offers plenty of luxuries as well. This warm and welcoming log cabin includes an outdoor hot tub, a pool table, an arcade and an indoor jetted tub, among other amenities that make it a truly special place for a family vacation.

Bear Necessities can sleep up to eight people. The primary suite epitomizes cabin style with all sorts of modern comforts. The spacious bed, crafted of logs that echo the wood walls, rafters and cathedral ceiling, isflanked by nightstands with lamps so that one of you can read in bed while the other drifts to sleep. Other features include a flat-screen TV, expansive windows that let in plenty of morning sunlight and evening breezes, and perhaps best of all, a jetted tub right in the privacy of your room. When you're in need of some quiet time, you'll know exactly where to go! Prefer showers The primary bath has one of those too.

The loft area upstairs has queen-size bunk beds, so another four people can sleep up there. The kids will rush to stake their claim, as the loft is also home to the game room, complete pool table, another flat-panel TV and a sound system. There's a full bathroom up there as well, making the loft a suite unto itself—one with spectacular views of the densely forested lands surrounding the house.

Have still more guests to accommodate No worries! The marvelously comfortable sofa in the living room converts to a bed for two. Guests who sleep here have the advantage of a 51-inch TV and the stone-surround gas fireplace—just the thing for chilly winter evenings, or for creating a romantic ambiance.

Speaking of romance, check out the large hot tub on the back deck! Of course, a long soak is also a fabulous way to ease tired muscles after a day of hiking or biking, golfing or walking the grounds of Dollywood—activities that are all within easy reach of Bear Necessities. If you're not in the mood for a hot-tub session, you can relax on one of the deck's rocking chairs. You just might drift off to sleep while listening to the leafy tree branches sway in the breeze.

Another of the deck's amenities is a gas grill. If you reel in some trout on a fishing expedition, you can grill it right out here. Everything, from hot dogs to corn on the cob, tastes better when cooked outdoors!

There's a fully equipped kitchen indoors as well. Whether you plan to prepare a multi-course holiday feast or simply brew coffee and make PB and J sandwiches, you'll find all the cookware, tableware and appliances you need. The extensive counter also serves as a breakfast bar, if you'd rather enjoy a quick snack there rather than at the nearby dining table, which comfortably seats six people.

If your idea of a vacation entails no cooking at all, you'll be happy to know that Bear Necessities is just a five-minute drive from downtown Gatlinburg, where you can dig into a juicy steak one night, barbecue ribs the next, and everything from pizza to pancakes in between. Besides eateries, Gatlinburg offers mini golf, an aquarium and plenty of other attractions. Only slightly further afield is Pigeon Forge, home to more restaurants as well as Dollywood, go karting, zip lining and more. And let's not forget the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the country's most popular, with its hiking trails, waterfalls, wildlife and wildflowers.

My family's favorite vacation and VRBO to date! The cabin was stunning with amazing views. Very well maintained. The privacy was next level while being in close proximity to stores and things to do! Highly recommend and would absolutely return! A!

This house was nice but the drive up is very intense. One lane road on the edge of mountain. There was also hardly any furniture to relax on (couch doesn’t recline) and not really any place to walk your dogs. This would be great for more advanced adventurer seekers!

The drive up to the property was a little iffy, which i wasn't expecting, but overall the cabin was nice.

This is the second time we have stayed in the cabin. It’s convenient to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We enjoy the view and quietness of the area.

I loved everything about the cabin execpt one thing... the windows at the top of the master bedroom cannot be covered and the sun comes in at dawn, and when trying to take a nap in the afternoon. Other than that probably the best cabin we have ever stayed in.

Well kept had everything we need. Beautiful view. The amenities were more than enough for us to have a good time. Everything we need for cooking with the exception of like spices, even salt and pepper. But obviously that is not a big deal. Overall, very satisfied and would stay again.

The place was very nice but the walkway to the the property was very icy. I believe the management company could have scraped the ice off and made the entry safer.

Love the house, excellent space and layout- love thats it is listed as pet friendly however there is no yard for walking dogs, only the cul de sac that the house is on. This house is actually managed by another rental company and you WILL pay more booking through vrbo. Also the company has a different pet policy than what is listed by VRBO- the company only sent their rental agreement after my cancellation period had passed but there was no problem ultimately. There are 2 carbon monoxide detectors in the cabin despite warning in description of amenities.*Heed warning of steep zig-zag driveway! We had an awd expedition that handled it perfectly and there are plow trucks and salt thankfully as we stayed during snow storm and single degree temps. House stayed very warm we did not even need the fireplace. Hot tub worked great... very close proximity to gatlinburg and pigeon forge though we didnt care to spend much time there. We went to wild bear falls and enjoyed being snowed in.

The hot tub doesn’t get hotter then Luke warm and the upstairs up by the ceiling above the banister in the corner appears to be some black mold on the wood. But other then that it was enjoyable

We came up for the Christmas Parade to celebrate our anniversary and our kids birthdays. The location of the cabin is great and the area is quiet, as well. It is conveniently located so that you can get to all the nearby attractions.

Cabin was so cute just like the pictures. Loved the high ceilings, huge windows and all the wood. Great privacy. Nothing not to love about the cabin and it’s in a great easy location to everything. The only downside to me was the scary access road to it. Very narrow that 2 cars can’t pass without pulling off but blind hairpin turns where you can’t see them. And very steep start my jeep didn’t like.
