Awesome Views at High Elevations - 1 bedroom with King bed, 3 bath cabin

This property was exactly as described. The cabin was super clean and well appointed with all we needed for our stay. We had a couple questions which we sent to the owners who responded quickly. This is definitely a place we'd book again for a future trip.

The views are amazing! This is the best cabin we have stayed in!

Awesome place to stay. Very clean and organized. I was able to find everything I needed easily. The owners had a paper notebook that was labeled with an index so that you could figure out anything you needed such as how to work the TV, etc. Attention to detail including cold glasses in the freezer and large matching beach towels in a basket by the door closest to the hot tub. Furniture, decor, dishes, etc. were very nice. Fireplace was very easy to use and very warm. Views were amazing. Trip up and down the mountain is not for the faint of heart! But was worth it! Would highly recommend

This cabin is GORGEOUS. It’s a bit of a scary drive up the mountain (be prepared for STEEP driving, on rocky roads), but once you arrive it is pristine. Literally felt like paradise to us. The views are completely unmatched. Thank you so much & we hope to return.

Second time we have stayed here and once again we absolutely loved it! The road up to the cabin can be a little sketchy but definitely worth the travel. This time it snowed a bit and the views are incredible! Sunsets are beautiful and star gazing at night is incredible. I am sure we will continue to visit here as it is one of our favorite places.

Location was perfect, house was well appointed with everything needed.

We have stayed at some cabins, but by far this one was the best. The cabin was very comfortable, warm, and clean. We really enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and fireplace. Kitchen and bathrooms were supplied with everything for the week. All we had to bring was food. The hosts, David and Amy, were very thorough, providing us with detailed directions and information about the cabin. We had a great stay and hope to be back next year!

Loved the cabin and decor. Kitchen was well stocked. Very clean. Convenient location to Maggie Valley (skiing) and Polar Express train. Definitely need four-wheel drive to access. We had other family members in area for Thanksgiving including children and they were not able to come visit.

We loved the view and the cabin. There’s plenty of things to do if you decide to stay in instead of go out. The owners are very responsive, informative, and understanding.

We loved our stay and had a great time. It was very relaxing, and the cabin was cozy and clean. The cabin had everything we needed, including firewood. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy the hot tub because it didn’t meet our expectations of cleanliness. Be prepared for a challenging drive up to the cabin. A portion of the road is loose gravel and very steep, and it takes about 15 minutes to drive the 2 miles from the base of the mountain. We have a small SUV and made it up fine, but I don’t think a sedan or small electric car would be able to make it up there - something to think of when booking. Overall, lovely stay and would return!

It’s just a fantastic property with the best views from any cabin I’ve ever stayed in. Cabin is super clean, in great shape, exceeded my expectations. The panoramic view of the mountains from the deck is amazing. Wife and I just loved it. The firepit was great too. The drive to cabin is very steep and with gravel roads and I’m glad I was in my 4x4 truck. That was part of the fun!

Great cabin, great view, very clean!

Everything about the trip was great. The only thing that I would recommend would be to have an AWD or 4 wheel drive vehicle. They must have recently put some large gravel on the steeper sections of the road which made it difficult to climb.

If you truly want to escape and reconnect wirh your partner this is the place to go. This cabin is situated high in the mountains with stunning views. It is well equipped with everything a couple could ever need to cook together, play games together, listen to music and dance the bight away under the stars on the deck. You are close to shops, towns, and adventures as well. The cabin is just as it is described and truly makes you never want to leave.

This cabin is well equipped and so comfortable. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the magnificent mountain views.

This place is AMAZING!! The views alone are worth the drive. The property is beautiful, the cabin was super clean, the bed was very comfortable. The owners were very easy to get ahold of (we just had a tv question) and ready to help with anything. My husband and I both loved the place and plan to stay there again!

This cabin was absolutely perfect for mine and my wife's anniversary. I can't express how majestic the views are from the balcony. Sitting out watching the sun rise and set were our favorite things to do. They also have loads of games and puzzles to keep you occupied during rainy days. There is also a dart board and a shuffle table. Our first time playing and it was addictive. The hot tub was amazing during the cold mornings and cooler nights. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will cherish the memories we made at this place.

We loved it so much!!

Excellent stay with everything you need, from Shampoo, detergent, to an ice cream scoop and sugar!!! They have thought about all possible ways to entertain with games, puzzles, bird watching, and AWESOME VIEW! With that view there is a price, all wheel vehicle is kind of necessary. We have front wheel only (small suv) and are experienced drivers in difficult situations but this tested us. We made it but if weather is bad would be worried. Once to the top it is awesome and is no need to leave. Internet was in and out and lights flickered with the rain. Didn't care because of all to do with hot tub, shuffleboard, and games. Could not watch tv due to internet out, but that comes with the mountains! Loved it and hosts were very responsive. Would love to stay again, but may drive the truck! Thanks for a great stay. Much to do in area from hiking, breweries, tubing, and rafting, and more!

Absolutely amazing cabin in the sky!Perfect place for a romantic getaway, to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with each other. The Colcloughs have thought of every detail to make it feel like home. It was completely beautiful inside and out. Very clean and cozy.The hot tub was awesome and we loved having coffee on the porch watching the hummingbirds. Had the best time playing games and cuddling up by the fireplace watching movies too.

The perfect cabin for a great get away. The owners have literally thought of everything and make it easy to relax and enjoy the mountains. They couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful and even accommodated us after we made a mistake with the dates of our stay. They truly just want you to enjoy their cabin.The view from the back deck is incredible and we found it hard to tear ourselves away from it. You see it as soon as you turn into the driveway and you immediately know you’re in for a relaxing stay. Everything is so well thought out from the kitchen to the hot tub to the landscaping. It’s just a perfect mountain cabin and we couldn’t have had a better stay! Would highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to relax in the mountains!

As soon as I opened the curtains overlooking the balcony and saw the view I was in love. We stayed in that first night relaxing on the deck while watching the sun set over the mountain. My husband couldn’t stop looking at the view. When the sun went down we hopped in the hot tub and any stress that didn’t dissipate upon arrival was quickly melted away. I absolutely loved watching the fireflies and stars twinkle. The entire cabin was pristine and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a few rounds of shuffleboard, darts and connect four downstairs on our way to the hot tub. We missed the sunrise the next morning but made a point to wake up earlier than needed on checkout day so we could enjoy the sun rise with our coffee. We would absolutely stay here again. We were considering the beach but given it was the 4th of July weekend we wanted to avoid crowds. Also the temperature on top of the mountain couldn’t be beat, far I say it was chilly at night. Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us.

A wonderfully peaceful retreat: comfortable, beautiful and full of home comforts. The cabin is a gem. If you can pull yourself away from sitting on the deck admiring the glorious views, there is a hot tub, fire pit and a basement full of bar games. Needed to contact owners with a simple question after arriving: response was prompt, courteous and solved issue. We will be back!

What a wonderful, peaceful and beyond beautiful home and view. We spent 3 days there and probably spent 4 hours a day just sitting on the porch enjoying the view, talking and playing games. The home is very private and isolated and VERY WELL kept. We needed nothing whatsoever...bed very comfortable, game room downstairs well-equipped, VERY CLEAN, great master shower!One tip - the drive to town is interesting and takes about 35 minutes. Come prepared with necessary food/supplies. WOULD ABSOLUTELY STAY THERE AGAIN!!!

We had the best time celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary in such a beautiful place, the pictures don’t do it justice! The Mountain View’s are phenomenal!! We’ve been coming to the Bryson City area for around 5 years and this is at the top of our list!! We are planning on booking again shortly for next year :) It was so nice and much needed to unplugged from the “noisy” world. Love the proximity to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

This was our favorite cabin that we have rented so far. The pictures do not do it justice. You will want for nothing in this cabin. The views are amazing. We loved the fireplaces. While we were there it was a bit windy and chilly so we didn't get to enjoy the deck as much as we wanted. But by far the best part of the cabin is the game room. We would spent the day out but would really look forward to coming back to the cabin and playing shuffleboard. The sunrise the morning we left made it really hard to leave. Thank you so much for sharing so a special place.

This place is BEYOND amazing. True luxury. They have thought of everything! The game room kept us entertained for hours. The view is stellar. One of the best i have ever seen! I can not say enough about this wonder cabin! Secluded as well! This one checks all the boxes!! Book now, you wont regret it! The reason I didnt give 5 stars is bc we couldn't get TV in basement and in Bedroom to work, but it didnt matter. You dont need a TV at this place.

The cabin is beautiful! Everything was exactly as described in the listing, well stocked with good stuff. It was very clean, and comfortable. We were looking to get away from the hustle and busle and this was perfect. The cabin is remote, about 25-30 mins at least from Bryson City, NC which is a cool little town. The road is steep, narrow, and windy, but totally worth the drive. The owners do a great job explaining the directions and navigation of the roads!The cabin does have great internet, so take your food and plan on relaxing. Communication with the owners was great, and they are very responsive. Plan on returning next year, highly recommended!

The cabin was in prestine condition and had absolutely everything we needed. It offers a variety of games that we really enjoyed learning to play. We loved playing shuffle board, relaxing in the hot tub, and toasting marshmallows by the fire. The views are even more spectacular in person. The owners were very detailed in how to get up the mountain and what to do at the cabin. My husband and I had an amazing time and were already talking about coming back before we even left!

It started with our arrival... beautiful, well designed and had everything one could need. You can feel and see that the owners take great pride in the cabin and property. It was a great getaway and would definitely go back.

This is our 4th time staying at this cabin. Amy and David go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. My husband and I love everything about it. The view, the peace, the tranquility, the games, hot tub, fireplaces, and how exceptionally clean the cabin is. It’s seriously the only cabin we will stay in now. We love it so much we are going to book a summer stay as well.

My husband and I have visited this cabin several times. It is always clean & welcoming, the kitchen has everything we need to stay in and cook! The drive to the cabin is one of my favorites with the winding creek along the road.

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend stay at this amazing location! The cabin is well maintained, clean and greatly equipped with everything one could wish for! You don't want to miss the sunsets from the hot tub!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is outfitted with everything you need and want. Grill, hot tub and fire places are a huge plus!! The elevation of the home is fantastic and the views are amazing. The only cautionary tale I would have is to be aware if booking in the winter, access in and out can be tricky. The slope of the road combined with snow/ice mix can be tough to traverse. 4WD is recommended and even then, can be dicey. The owner was fantastic and provided enough warning about the road conditions before our trek up and provided much needed flexibility for our departure, allowing the snow to melt enough to make the road passable. For reference, my 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 Denali 4WD truck with mud grip tires, in 4-Low, Offroad Mode, Exhaust Break on, with Decent Control activated, still slid a little coming down the mountain on 2 of snow, the asphalt sections of road are that steep. Admittedly, I am a life long Floridian, so driving in snow is not in my bag of skills. My advice would be, if you expect snow, to carry enough food up the mountain to last you a couple of days, just in case you need to wait it out. Still, totally worth the fantastic views and would still go back especially in warmer weather!! This cabin is great!!

The cabin is stunning! The views are just everything. I took more pics than I should have but couldn’t help myself! Clean, comfortable, stocked to the max with everything you need. The game room was awesome with a fireplace, shuffleboard, darts, game table, and tons of games provided. We cooked on New Years Day and had every pot, pan and utensil we needed. We were so grateful that the fireplaces were gas and could turn on with the touch of a button! We did lose power twice during our stay. Not the owners fault and they were very responsive. The fireplace kept us warm and cozy but there is zero phone service when the power is out as there is no WiFi and the cordless phone on site doesn’t work when the power is out. You have to drive to the bottom of the mountain to make a call to report the outage or to get help. A full house generator would be a nice addition to this cabin although we realize an expensive one for a rental. The drive up wasn’t bad until you get to Freedom Way (the road the cabin is on). I’d suggest an AWD or 4x4, especially in winter. You can probably make it in a regular vehicle in the warmer months. Overall, this place is WORTH IT! The owners were amazing and so helpful. Willing move us to their other property during the power outage but we loved this place so much we held out for the power to return!

We loved this cabin! Very clean, very comfortable, had all the necessities needed. Bring some groceries and you never have to leave. The road up is tricky, but we have an all wheel drive SUV and it did just fine.Definitely a good idea to arrive in the daytime for the first trip up. comfnight.

We came up just before Christmas to get some much needed R&R before the holiday chaos began. The cabin was perfect for the two of us with plenty of things to keep us busy. We loved the hot tub, especially star gazing, and even was enjoyable as it snowed! Darts and shuffle board, cable TV and gas fire was nice when we were drained from being out in the town visiting breweries and the casino. It was well stocked and very comfortable. The drive was a hike but the views make it worth it. We would love to come back and visit when it’s warmer as well!

Awesome place, the decor and attention to detail is second to none. The time and effort the host put into every part of your trip was well thought out. They provided very detailed directions up the mountain. It’s intimidating navigating the mountain the first time, however the details provided ahead of the trip helped out tremendously.

This was our 3rd trip to the Elk Ridge Cabin and, once again, we enjoyed every minute there!! The cabin was immaculate, comfortable and we had everything we needed!! Coffee on the back deck admiring the view each morning was a highlight along with the fire pit one evening… perfect as the weather was cool!!Thanks again!!

Amy and Dave's home is gorgeous inside and out. The views from the expansive decks are breathtaking. We felt embraced by the mountains. Inside was luxurious and something out of House and Garden Magazine. The hosts were helpful in suggesting various hikes and always available for questions. We never ate out because we wanted to return home to beauty. Loved cooking the kitchen. The place has a sacred energy.. hope to return. We are grateful for the experience.

The cabin is beautiful and well-appointed, offering a fantastic view from the deck and windows. All the appliances, furniture, and fixtures worked well and were very high quality. The kitchen had everything you might need. Great cabin! The road to the property is well-maintained, but they’re not kidding about how steep it is. You really need 4WD to get there smoothly, without tearing up the steeper sections of the gravel road. The privacy is worth it!

Amy was the most amazing host I have ever encountered with a VRBO and I VRBO quite often. I had the opportunity to run into her in person and she by far met my expectations by going over and beyond to help us. The house is absolutely beautiful with stunning views. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need to cook. The king bed is very comfortable and cozy. The rest of the house has a great set up and the downstairs has every game you can imagine for family fun. I rented this house because I wanted to see if could be “the one” I want to build in the mountains … and it’s at the top of my list. The stars at night glow so bright while sitting in the hot tub, you feel like you are in another world. I would highly recommend not only this property, but the host as well. You won’t be disappointed.

This cabin was truly perfect for a quiet honeymoon! The views are astounding and pictures don’t do it justice. We spent most of our time at the cabin because there was so much to do and so much room to relax and enjoy the mountains. We enjoyed all the games in the basement and the porch is set up perfect for grilling and hanging out. The last few days of our stay we could hear visitors outside the cabin next door pretty loudly but that isn’t the owners fault, and probably largely depends on who is staying there. Overall it felt very secluded and quiet! The town itself is very fun to visit, and we went to dinner a few times and walked around the cute little shops downtown. We also visited the Nantahala Outdoor Center which was beautiful. The cabin was very clean and well equipped, and we didn’t feel like we were missing anything. The drive up to the cabin is a little difficult at first but once we got the hang of it we were fine, and it was more than worth it for the amazing views! Overall we had such an amazing time at this cabin and we would come back again in a heartbeat!
