Whitefish, Montana
Enjoy a true getaway in this nicely appointed studio cabin in Lulu’s Guest Ranch. It is one of several authentic Montana ranch cabins, just 8 minutes from downtown Whitefish. Your cabin is set in a cluster of several other cabins, surrounded by nature, with sweeping vistas from your wrap-around porch. It’s not uncommon to see elk and deer feeding out front, as well as eagles, hawks and owls overhead as well as majestic Clydesdale horses next door in the Clydesdale Outpost.
The cabin was completely updated in 2022 and is very clean. Small but very well appointed. It has a kitchenette (no stove) and bath, complete with tile shower. The queen bed is comfortable and offers amazing views of the surrounding landscape. Original pine walls provide a warm, rustic ambiance. Outside there's a wrap-around porch for all seasons, complete with deck chairs and a picnic table. We have a friendly Lab, Lulu, who occasionally roams the property.
Note: Our cabins have 95% 5-star reviews from guests around the world. They are in authentic, rural Montana. Like much of rural Montana, they have:
1) Limited Wifi. It is available but not fast (8-10 mbps) and sometimes goes down altogether
2) Limited cell service
3) Occasional mosquitos and other insects, inside and outside
If any of these are a critical issue for you, this cabin is not your best choice. We can’t guarantee any of them won’t occur during your stay.
Many locals consider the north side to be Whitefish’s best side. Recreation abounds, just minutes away. Access to the extensive Whitefish trail system is a 5-minute drive to the Beaver Lakes trailhead. This is your gateway to fantastic hiking, trail running and mountain biking. In another few minutes you’ll find beautiful alpine lakes, including Beaver Lake, Murry Lake and Woods Lake. They’re crystal-clear waters are perfect for swimming, paddle boarding and fishing. These are local gems. Speaking of mountain biking, the area’s best trails are also within a 5- minute drive. Between Beaver Lake trail and Spencer Mountain you’ll have your choice of flowy green to challenging double-black runs. The trails are well marked. You can even stop by the Whitefish Bike Retreat (also 5 minutes away) for a beer, great conversation and equipment rentals. The Still water river is less than a half mile away, offering good fly fishing.
Big Mountain (Whitefish Ski Resort) is a 25-minute drive and is a great place to recreate in the summer with an outstanding choice of activities. Glacier Park west entrance is 45 minutes.
Heading north from here you have an incredible selection of lakes, trail systems and all the recreation NW Montana has to offer, but without the crowds!
Really enjoyed our stay. Very small, but big enough for us. Very cozy. Well equipped. CLEAN! Nice place to relax. Helpful owners
Great little 1 room cabin just out of town. Loved spending time outside on the deck playing games and having Lulu over to play ball. Jim was very helpful with any thing we needed. This was our first tiny house experience and was a lot of fun.
Nice landing spot. Nothing fancy but everything you need. Clean and easy to find
Great location
We were very pleased with the quarters and it’s ample wrap around porch! The hosts were very friendly and helpful with advice on local hiking and restaurants. The dog and horses were a real bonus.
Wonderful little cabin! Not a lot of space but that’s what we were looking for. While at the cabin, aside from sleeping, we spent our time on the porch which was wonderful! The cabin is close enough to whitefish it’s convenient but far enough out of the town you get to experience more of the countryside!
The place is 10 min away from Whitefish. The views are amazing and the cabin is cozy and cute.
My wife and I stayed at this place for a few days as we experienced what the area had to offer. It was a perfect place for the two of us with it being so simple and relaxing. We loved the place and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to stay as they go out to explore what the Glacier area has to offer.
My partner and I were in Whitefish for vacation and loved the location of this cabin. We had the view off the back porch looking over the field and the scenery and were also 15 minutes from down town whitefish. Commuting to Whitefish was very easy and we were surrounded by the beautiful outdoors. The owners live next door and hi the day we checked in and gave us a ton of great suggestions for what was in the area. We had a great stay at the Rustic Cabin and would stay here again next time we're traveling out to Whitefish.
We loved the location and the surrounding rivers and lakes. The cabin was cute, and the bed was very comfortable for a good night sleep following our daily adventures. Thanks to Jim and Lynette for your hospitality. We hope to be back ....as we loved Montana!
Stay was cozy and nice. Beautiful view and friendly owners.
Everything went well. Great setting and view
Clean, quiet. The deer and hawks were fun to warch
The cabin was smaller than expected but overall it was a great stay
This quaint cabin is located about 45 minutes from the West side entrance to Going to the Sun road. We got in a half marathon race, hiked Highline Loop to Glacier Outlook (15 miles), horseback riding at Swan Mountain, & a whitewater rafting trip down the river! Perfect place if you want to squeeze every bit of the Glacier experience in a 3 day stay. Mr. Jim & Mrs. Lynette are the most welcoming host! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We will definitely be back at this same cabin!
Beautiful location, cozy cabin with all of the amenities one could need. Hosts were extraordinary and provided excellent support and communication through our stay.
This was a small, quiet cabin that had everything we needed for our stay. It is convenient to Whitefish/Kalispell and was a preferred option than a regular hotel. Directions were accurate and check in was smooth as host provided all details prior to our arriving.
After the busy days we had in Whitefish, it was lovely to experience a quiet setting in the trees. Our host was helpful in every way, including suggestions of local hikes and excellent dining spots.
We had a great time at Jim's cabin. It is small, but so perfect for what we needed. We especially loved the deck in the mornings. It was a short drive to Whitefish. There is no air conditioning, but a very nice fan. We were there in August and the fan was sufficient for us.
Our stay here was wonderful! The owners were so nice, communicated well, and made our stay perfect! Everything was just as listed in the description for the cabin. A perfect stay to disconnect and close to many trails for hiking.
The property was adorable. Close enough to everything we wanted to do but far enough out for peace and quiet. Thanks for a great stay.
