Amazing Waterfront Cabin on Placid Lake

Love, love, love this place! Fantastic views, beautiful lake and setting, superb hosts. We will be back. Everything you could possibly want.

We have stayed at Doug and Gloria’s cabin five years and it surely does not disappoint! Everything you could ever need you will find in this cabin plus the paddle boat and kayaks! Sitting on the dock watching and listening to loons is so relaxing. Our family loves this cabin and have reserved for 2026 already! If interested, book quickly. The cabin books up quickly!

Almost perfect. Clean, well-stocked, and well maintained. Friendly and readily available hosts, not that we lacked anything other than a couple of restaurant recommendations. An absolutely wonderful retreat that afforded our extended family the opportunity to both play together and relax on our own when we so desired. It was our second visit in two years and we'll try to make it again if we can just our schedules to line up one more time. None of us are a fan of the seven hour trek (hence the aforementioned almost,) but it's a very small price to pay for wonderfully relaxed environment we were able to escape into. Excellent in every way! Comfortable, clean cabin with perfect view of trees and lake.

Cabin was wonderful and had everything we needed plus some. Plenty of space, dock was good for fishing and pontoon I rented on lake. Would absolutely stay again and communication with host was great. Highly recommend this property.

We were 7 of us staying at the Lake Placid - lake home. Everything was perfect! This was the absolute best place qw have ever stayed on a fishing vacation. Everyone had plenty of space and the home had absolutely everything we needed! The property owners live right next door and were also great.We hopefully will be able to enjoy their place again some day!!!

We had an Amazing time at Doug and Gloria's Cabin over Memorial weekend. The cabin was very nice and felt just like home. The kids enjoyed playing pool, fishing, taking the paddle and Kayaks out on the water. We also enjoyed going to town and doing activities and shopping. We would love to come back to the cabin again. Doug and Gloria are wonderful people and liked talking with them.

We had a great family getaway despite the cold temperatures. Our family had a great time. Our adult sons had a great time golfing, fishing and playing pool.

Girl's weekend for Cran Fest. Property is so charming and nicely decorated. Host was available for any questions and provided us with kindling for a fire, helped with water toys and gave us local area suggestions. We would reserve again.

This house has it all and is right on Lake Placid, a peaceful beautiful lake. Rent a boat and take a ride to explore the other lakes or not, grab a chair and sit on the pier to enjoy the sounds of the loons and watch the sky. The house is very comfortable, spotless and has everything for a vacation. Highly recommend!

This was our second stay at Placid Lake. Doug and Gloria are outstanding hosts, extremely friendly and welcoming. The house is amazing, clean and well stocked with all of your basic needs. Lake Placid is crystal clear water. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, waterfront getaway in the Hayward area. Thank you for a great week Doug and Gloria!

Visiting with family and we had a wonderful time. Everything was spotless and comfortable and every need anticipated, Not only is the home beautiful and well appointed, but the setting is picturesque and very peaceful. The hosts are amazing!

This was our third visit to Doug and Gloria's amazing cabin. The cabin is so inviting it is truly hard to leave. You will find everything you could ever need here, plus the water toys. Our 2025 visit was booked before we left in 2024 as it books up fast!! Doug and Gloria are great hosts!

Have stayed here for over eight years straight. Home looks like new. Always making improvements each year. Doug and Gloria go out of their way to make sure everything goes smooth. We will be back next year.
