If your ideal vacation includes fishing for trout just steps away from where you’re staying, you’ll want to book your stay at Amazing River Retreat right now! Even if fishing isn’t key to your getaway, however, you’ll find plenty to love about this three-bedroom, dog-friendly (dogs only - up to 25 lbs.) lodge.

Located in a forested mountain valley, Amazing River Retreat is right on the bank of the trout-stocked Little Pigeon River. From the lodge’s two spacious wraparound decks you’ll hear the soothing burble of the waters rushing over the rocks. Along with the rustling of the breeze through the trees, the singing of warblers and thrushes during the day, and the chirping of crickets at night, it serves as ideal background music. Whether you’re enjoying breakfast at the main deck’s patio table, cooking dinner on the charcoal grill, or perhaps best of all, lazing in the lower deck’s hot tub, you can savor the soothing soundtrack.

You can revel in the views from inside the lodge as well, courtesy of the great room’s double-height wall of windows. The sunlight streaming in shows off the hand-rubbed light pine floors, walls and vaulted ceiling to perfection.

There’s space for everyone to gather on the great room’s well-cushioned leather seating, whether it’s to watch the big game on TV or play charades in the glow of the stone-surround fireplace. The great room also hosts the dining area, which includes a gorgeous wood-and-wrought-iron table that seats six. Another four people can sit at the adjacent breakfast bar. If you’re vacationing with another family, set up the kids at the breakfast bar. They’ll love eating “on their own” while the adults linger over their meal at the table.

Speaking of meals, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a cordon bleu feast or simply to reheat leftovers from the previous night’s restaurant meal. From a refrigerator with ice maker to a dishwasher, we’ve got you covered!

Downstairs you’ll find the game room, the perfect hangout for kids and adults alike. You can choose between shooting pool at the full-size billiard table or play foosball. Or you can stretch out on one of the so comfortable couches and watch a movie on TV—Amazing River Retreat receives plenty of satellite channels, including Showtime. The washer and dryer are conveniently located just off the game room, so you can do laundry while you lounge.

Just as the game room takes up nearly all of the downstairs, the primary suite makes up the entire loft level. The bedroom is huge, with a king-size bed, a desk, a sitting area, a flat-screen TV and a wealth of storage. Add to that the vaulted ceiling, the en-suite bathroom, and the magnificent view, and you have a haven you might never want to leave.

The other two bedrooms on the main floor are just as comfortable. Each has a queen-size bed, a TV, a ceiling fan and plenty of storage. If you need additional sleeping quarters, the sofa in the game room opens into beds for two, enabling Amazing River Retreat to accommodate eight people in all.

When you’re not fishing for trout in the river that’s right outside your door, there’s plenty more to do in the area. Amazing River Retreat is no more than a half-hour drive from the attractions of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. You can explore the wildlife, wildflowers and waterfalls of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park one day, the rides and attractions of Dollywood the next, and the galleries, shops and studios of the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop the day after that.

No matter how you spend your days, you’ll love returning to the tranquility of Amazing River Retreat. It’s really a fabulous place for relaxing body and soul. So, what are you waiting for Book your stay today—we look forward to seeing you!

*Please Note: Due to the mountainous terrain of the Smoky Mountains and the surrounding area, guests are required to arrive in a high-profile vehicle equipped with All-Wheel Drive or Four-Wheel Drive during the winter season and strongly recommended to do so year-round. Access roads leading to some of our properties may include narrow roads, gravel, and/or paved surfaces, and steep grades.*

This is our 2nd time staying in this cabin. It is awesome and fits our family well. Great place to cook and eat at the Cabin instead of eating out all the time. Very close to enjoy our favorite shops in the glades, one of our favorite restaurants, Three Jimmies ( we do eat out some). We will definitely stay here again m

The listing should be updated to make it clear this property is not private. The pictures do not show how close the side neighbors. You can smell their cig smoke and overhear conversations. You watch a very busy road as you sit looking toward the beautiful stream and river. There is no peace and quiet due to cars, trucks, semis, etc. The pictures show a garage, but you do not have access to the garage. Huge problem for us because we had a number of toys that needed to be out of the weather. No curtains in living area so at night, no privacy. Lost water for a full day which costs us $500 in broken reservations in Pigeon Forge area. TVs did not work the entire time. Internet worked the first day, but was off/on the rest of the trip. We were told that is how it works. So, don't rely on the Internet for anything more than email. We were locked out of the house for a short period because deck door knob broke in locked state. Hot tub not operational on arrival and we only used once because it was not clean. Ice machine stopped working after two days. The heater upstairs stopped working on coldest night. Leaf blowers for hours each day. The staff that made onsite visits were wonderful and local. VTrips is based in Miami and when we made calls to address issues we were pushed to staff in the Caribbean who could barely speak English. There was little coordination or concern as to our well being. We were refunded $$$, but not compensatory to the bad experience.

Beautiful cabin away from the crowds but very accessible. Our kids loved the spacious cabin, the creek, and the woods. We loved the fully equipped kitchen and easy access to the Park and Gatlinburg.

This is the third time to stay at this property. We have never been disappointed! This time, however, a young bear came up to the creek in the back yard! The home is cozy and clean!! No worries when we select this property!!
