Aspen Vista is open year round for you to enjoy a quiet retreat in all seasons. If you are looking for something for the kids to do in warmer weather, they'll love the big playground, skate park and sandy 'beach' in Alma just about 10 minutes away.
This is our family cabin that we only rent when we are not using it, so it should have everything you need for a very peaceful and comfortable stay. We love the cabin and area and are happy to offer lots of information about the surrounding area that only locals know about (special trails, unique fishing spots, etc).
NO SMOKING OF ANY TYPE IS ALLOWED IN CABIN OR ON PROPERTY.

Wow, this place is truly amazing! It's somewhat secluded with a fabulous private outdoor hot tub under the stars. Clean and fresh. I'd stay here again and again!
Great stay! The cabin itself was a bit dirty in the bathroom. Make sure you have a good car for off roading to get to and from the property. Lots of pot holes. Amazing views! Quiet! Full kitchen and laundry machines. I highly recommend staying here- we had a blast!
We had a great time and the property was great. Everything was as advertised and communication was excellent. Highly recommend for a weekend away.
Close to several hiking trails.
This was just as described; a quiet retreat in a beautiful mountain setting. Only a few minutes to the town of Fairplay, but we just wanted to hang out at the cabin, relax in the hot tub, and take walks from there. We saw elk, and bear tracks, but no animals themselves. A really nice get-away!
So very quiet and peaceful.
Communication with the owner went well, self check-in process was simple and straight forward. The cabin is very small but charming & rustic. It worked well for my wife and I as it crossed off the things we were looking for : private, wood burning fire, hot tub, pet friendly, and in the location we desired. The cabin is great for a couple or a single family with small children. There is bedding for more but the open kitchen/dining and living area is very tight. There were a few minor maintenance and hot tub cover issues that I would categorize as rotuine maintenance with a cabin of this age. The owner was unaware but assured they would be taken care of.
Very quiet and peaceful, great view with a hot tub. Can't ask for much more relaxation. We had a great time.
We wanted to stay in a private cabin, but still have daily access to regional ski resorts. This place was a perfect spot for us. We could get away from the hustle of big ski resorts and crowds, but go ski at Breck, Copper, and Keystone within an hour. We snowshoed around the property, had nightly soaks in the hot tub, and enjoyed the wood stove. A perfect retreat with conveniences and privacy.
We had such a wonderful weekend getaway! The cabin was very homey, private and just what we needed to relax. The hot tub was amazing and the stars at night were fantastic! Karen was very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Karen, for such a great stay!
My husband and myself with our dog had a wonderful time. This cabin is everything that was posted and then some. It was very cold the first few nights. The cabin was so warm and comfortable. The wood stove was easy to use and the owner had plenty of wood. The bed was very comfortable and since the cabin was warm it was had to get out. We saw 2 moose on the property so that was a treat. Hiking opportunities are close by and fun. We would recommend this for a small group. We would come back.
A wonderful location and cabin. It had everything we were looking for. It made for a perfect weekend from the moment we arrived.
We had a great stay at the cozy cabin! We saw a mother moose with her baby walk right by the cabin as we were on the porch! Also saw some bucks in the early morning. We took a short drive to explore Breckenridge for a day and appreciated dinner takeout from Millzoni’s Italian restaurant in FairPlay recommended by Karen in the guest book. Great stay and Karen was very communicative and helpful throughout! Thank you!
Awesome- property owners use this cabin a lot so it is so well stocked with kitchenware , towels for their lovely hot tub and firewood for their wood stove. Surrounded by trees, you cannot see their neighbors yet it’s only about 5 miles from the town of Fairplay. Lots of hiking around area and visiting South Park City museum is a must- budget at least 2 hours . Would recommend 3 nights at cabin if you have the time. Have lived in CO 43 years and have never stayed in Fairplay area of South Park- big mistake on my my part to have missed this gem!
It was a little difficult to find just by my GPS which kept telling us we had arrived but were on the opposite side of the circle. The sign could use some brightening up for better visualization. Once we found the driveway entrance the cabin itself was in a beautiful location nestled in the pines and aspen. Many beautiful wildflowers were blooming and the weather was perfect. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook up our breakfast and dinner.
The drive up to the cabin was interesting. Seemed Like the middle of nowhere. The cabin was great with anything you needed. Couldn't enjoy the meadow due to arrival and departure times. Very nice overall.
Great experience. The moose who showed up 10 feet from our living room window, staring us in our eyes was the highlight. I'd post pics if I could. Everything was super clean. Karen was amenable to our needs. If you want a chill spot this is the place. 30 minutes from Breck. 2 hours from Grand Lake and RMNP. But if you want to get away and have some seclusion, this is the place. Check out the Java Moose in Fairplay for all your coffee needs.
Finally saw a bull moose this morning just down the street. Our stay was excellent in every respect!
Was the perfect way to spend Father's Day with my husband. We loved the cabin and the surrounding areas. The owner gave us some useful suggestions for restaurants and trails. The hot tub at night looking at the stars was amazing! We had everything we needed in the cabin. Thanks so much!
We had a great time staying here. Cozy cabin that feels secluded, but not too far away from activities. A great getaway!
First of all, VRBO had double booked the first property we had booked 4 months in advance so they offered us this one instead. This property has black mold, it might have shifted on the foundation as every step made the floor squeak and pop, there is a dangerous 2”high trip mat that can’t be walked around, no deck furniture, closets stuffed with junk, 1/2” dust and crumbs left around, hair in the hot tub, scattered lumber in the yard, broken window shades in the bedroom, pictures on line that are not what is there. We paid for 3 nights but only stayed one as it was dangerous. The owner was not very cooperative and changed her story more than once.
The cabin was just what my girlfriend and I were looking for. Quiet and secluded but with the amenities of home. The hot tub was perfect for a night under the stars and the patio was perfect for early morning coffee. We chose to sleep in the upstairs loft which has skylights which give you a great view of the stars as you fall asleep. The fireplace kept the cabin nice and cozy and there was plenty of already chopped firewood at our disposal. We had a couple of nice walks/hikes through the aspens and town was just a quick drive away for any supplies or to grab dinner. Beautiful views of the snow capped mountains from the front porch and upstairs balcony lent to a very relaxing and awe inspiring few days. Karen was a great host, very communicative and even offered us an extra night at a reduced rate. 5 stars across the board!
