The house was great. Plenty of room for our group of 8. Location was super close to Beech for skiing! Only had issues with the hot tub and fireplace not working which was a bummer. However, the property manager was very responsive right away and helped get it fixed. Wish it had worked for the whole weekend but we enjoyed it when it was.
The house is close to the slopes and the Coffey Lake for hiking and pool at Summer. It sleeps a lot of people so it was great for our family. Could be cleaner. Mgmt asks that you wash your own dishes before leaving which worries me that I'm relying on someone running late to properly wash the dishes I'm using. House could use some upgrades. Jacuzzi was either smoking hot, thermometer read 114 - no joke, or too cold. All in all though we enjoyed the house and would use again. We love Beech mountain, Fred's, ski slopes, Frazier, Bullwinkles, Banner Elk, Grandfather Mtn, etc!
The cabin was perfect for us with our large, and age diverse group. Very clean. Note that you must follow the location directions exactly. The mailing address is not the address to put in your GPS because the drive-way is on a different road than the mailbox. We had an issue with hot tub, which was not resolved after an attempt at resolving it, but the company refunded us the hot tub fee.
Place was infested with roaches. Stove is broken. Not but one pan to cook with. Very disappointed!
The house was not what we expected it to be. Half of the house was in a very bad condition. The two master bedrooms with their own bathrooms were in great condition but the other three rooms were awful. The cabinet in the small bathroom downstairs was also in a very bad condition. The kitchen and living room area were great. The Jacuzzi was very nice. In the middle of the night I went to the kitchen to grab water and found a ton of tiny little roaches around the sink area. I opened the cupboard to get a glass and found roaches crawling on the top of the inside of the cabinet. We also had roaches in the small bedroom and in the bathroom upstairs. Apparently there is a leak in the closet of the medium size bedroom which caused the closet floor to get filled with water. All of the bags in the closet got soaking wet. The washer and dryer worked well and so did the dishwasher. The location was great. I am not going to publish a review about this house because I think every owner deserves an opportunity to fix the problems. But I certainly suggest you fix it before renting it to someone else because it was a really awful experience for my entire family. We were dying to get out of the house.

Cabin was nice and cozy for 8 people. Only negative was that some of the pillow covers and sheets were not clean and cockroaches in kitchen and bathrooms
Was a ok trip ... was not happy that there was Leaves all over the Decks and was not cleaned off for us to enjoy the views and able to enjoy till we cleaned off areas for us to seat and relax and not have to deal with walking around with them all over the place and being Piled up up in front of door ways .. was not feeling safe with the bottom door will not lock and start shut/locked and feeling safe to leave r things in house do to not Secured . So was not able to leave and enjoy the mounts . I would say over price for Lack of maintenance and Condition .. Could not enjoy the fireplace due to would not light .. with among other things that would have made stay way way more enjoyable. So sad to say would not recommen.. Sorry .. very unhappy with r stay and very upset with the money that was wasted.
All in all a decent stay. The house smelled really musty upon arrival but you do get used to after the first day and most rooms could really use a good bit of updating. The Hot tub picture showed it was enclosed however the “greenhouse” had been removed so it wasn't as relaxing to sit in it outside in all of the rain we had. The driveway is pretty difficult to maneuver and some horizontal railroad ties could prevent the erosion and deep potholes you maneuver through upon exiting. For easier directions to get here you can use the address of 114 Creekridge road which puts you right at the gate.
We had a very wonderful time despite the high winds on Saturday night. The Greenhouse was very spacious. Other than heavy machine (small Kabota backhoe) digging that was going on during the day of arrival and the following day - everything was good. I talked with the workers, who were very nice, and they told me they were repairing a drainage line of the neighbors that ran thru the property we were renting. They were told we were coming in the following day and that is why they were working to fix the drainage lines. Carolina Cabin Rental worked very well with me to resolve the problem. I appreciate that. I would recommend Carolina Cabins to anyone. A couple items that would help future guest. 1. Have instructions for using the TV and DVD player. There was no remote for the DVD player and we had to operate it by hand. The DVD player was nonfunctional when we arrived. Some of the hook-ups at the rear of the TV and DVD were not hooked up correctly. I was able to hook them up the correct way and it then worked fine, but we had to do it manually. 2. Coming into the gate to the Greenhouse, the parking area is sloped down hill. In winter when there is heavy snow, a vehicle may slide towards the house. If this were my property I would put some concrete post in the ground to prevent the vehicle from sliding into the property. A post similar to stores such as Best Buy or Target have in front of their door entrances keeps vehicles from crashing into the entrance. 3. The owner might think about putting a book in the main living room so guest can write down what they did while visiting and what they thought of the Greenhouse. 4. Nothing can be done about the following comment without spending a significant amount of money. I could not believe all the light switches and thermostats. In the bathroom for master bedroom alone there were 6 light switches plus a separate wall mounted heater. There were light switches all over the Greenhouse. I could never remember which switch controlled which light. Additionally, almost every room had a separate thermostat to control the baseboard heat for that room. Many of the thermostats did not have a temperature setting on them. Some did and some did not. So we were kind of guessing. Maybe it was just to expensive to put central air and heat in the Greenhouse. It would have been nice to have one control to adjust the temperature. I wouldn't rent the Greenhouse again unless it was the last one available. 5. The hot tub was sitting directly in front of the area that you enter into the Greenhouse. The pictures that we saw indicated it was inside a n area. Not only that but we were going to use the hot tub when we got there but it was almost directly in front of where the workers were digging when we arrived. Needless to say that we did not use the hot tub.
