Nice cabin very peaceful.
Appreciate the response on the Refrigerator problem. The lack of internet service for the four-day stay was really an inconvenience, unable to plan trips ahead of time and loss of time.
Unfortunately this year we waited too long to book a cabin for our trip and this was one of the few left. When we checked in they told us fire wood was not provided and if we needed more it was $10 a bundle. We purchased two more bundles from them. Then we found out that Lazy Trout sells bundles for $6. So we bought two from them but that was all they had left. After a few days we called them for more and they said they realized that the owner of this cabin provides wood and that maintenance would unlock the garage. Later we found a small pile of wood by the back door and the garage wasn’t unlocked. So we burned that up and had to ask again for more and wait for them to get it. They left a pile out by the garage in the snow and didn’t say anything. There is no phone line and the WiFi doesn’t work. They said it’s spotty but I don’t think it’s even hooked up as it never worked the whole week we stayed. Verizon phones had no cell service inside the cabin but we were able to get spotty service outside. If you are a clean freak this isn’t the cabin for you. My son dropped something and we were looking for it under the night stand and bed and it was disgusting under there. Used ear plugs and a chewed up dog bone. The place definitely needs a deep clean. SAFETY!!! The cabin has two lofts and the stairs are downright dangerous. The one set is similar to a carpeted ladder with a 90 degree turn and super narrow treads that are super steep. My 62 year old mother in law fell on these steps as did a couple of our kids. Both sets of steps to the deck do not have handrails which is dangerous when they are covered in snow and ice. There was not a boot brush or rug by the door so when the kids came in from the snow the floor got wet and the type of flooring is incredibly slippery when wet. I recommend you bring some nice nonstick pans if you plan on cooking while there. The pans that are there are terrible and you end up trying to scrub them to remove stuck on food.
This cabin is in a beautiful area but is about 5 miles out of town. The cabin itself was nice and the deck was amazing!! There are no campfires allowed at the cabin but you can use a propane fire pit. If you don't have one, you can rent one at the rental store near the property. Bring a hammock as this is a perfect place for them. Overall it was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay immensely.
The pictures don’t give this property justice. We had a wonderful time only left the property once to check out lake but then spent the rest of our 4 day stay here. Rooms are bigger then we thought and a huge patio where we spent most of our time playing games and cooking out
This property is located in a beautiful area and the location was incredible. The actual cabin is old and has not been well maintained or updated. There were exposed electrical wires in the master bath and under the kitchen cabinets. There was an infestation of large black ants. Apparently this has been an issue as there was a cabinet full of ant spray. Ants were even in the beds in the upstairs loft. The furniture is all old and broken down. Very uncomfortable to use. The quest bathroom had a shower that was literally lower than 48 inches. Nearly impossible for an adult to take a shower. The towels were all old an crusty. Cleanliness left much to be desired. It has a wonderful deck and wildlife abound around the property. If you want a glimpse in to life in the 60's and 70's this might be the property for you otherwise look elsewhere for a better maintained and updated property. There is no cell service, and repeated calls to the office in town from a land line went unanswered during our stay. Would not rent this property again.
We had a lot of fun and the cabin was a really nice cabin.
Little dated but had all the necessary amenities needed.
This properly was listed as a 4 bedroom. Didn't mention 2 bedrooms were in a loft. The ceiling in one of them was so low, my 8 yr old grandson couldn't stand up straight. Plus, the stairway was so steep, the kids had to walk down backwards on all four. We got there at night, ready to barbecue, low and behold, the propane tank was empty. We called the emergency number provided, it took 30 minutes for someone to bring it out. Very disappointing.
Great family experience
