Building with the pool and huge kitchen/dining area worked well for all of us to cook and eat together. The pellet smoker/grill/griddle was awesome. Our host Kate was very receptive - we had an issue with the AC in the main cabin upstairs - sent someone out quickly. The property is so private and quiet. We really enjoyed our week there.

Overall it was good. It’s odd driving up to it. After the gate you will pass several trailers that people live in. They came up to the property to get their dog while we were there. The layout is not great. The 3 smaller cabins are at the bottom of a steep hill. The loft in the cabins has a very low ceiling. We did enjoy it but for the price I don’t think we should have to buy toilet paper. The listing is accurate. You will need 4wd to get up to the property. It’s a windy road to get to Gatlinburg and the other tourist areas.

We had 28 family members stay at the cabins. We were all able to have privacy yet still hang out together. We all enjoyed the pool and the pond. It was great having kitchen and enough seats for us to have meals together by the pool. We weee close enough to get to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The property was well kept, clean and just gorgeous. We had a small problem but Kate had it taken care of very quickly. We will definitely stay again!

We absolutely loved Hellbender for our stay. Very roomy, kids had a lot to do while they was here as the pool and game room was a bit hit for them. The trails they have there are marked trails, we liked that they took the time to make marked trails as most cabins don't offer this. The main cabin was beautiful, as the big front porch was great for sitting around having morning coffee an listening to the birds chirping. The fire pit was stocked with wood for us to burn and make smores with so we didn't have to pack wood. The pond was nice to be close to the main cabin, as at night the bullfrogs was in full force. The only downfall that we had from this visit is the hill from the main cabin to the 3 other smaller cabins. It's pretty steep to be walking up to the main and back to the smaller cabins. Might be nice to have some type of golf cart or something to help with travels up and down the hill for older folks and children. But overall we very much enjoyed our stay here at Hellbender and would recommend it to anyone with a big family/group. P.S. Turn your phones off you won't have signal. Wi-Fi was very spotty.

Hellbender is such a nice piece of property away from it all. It was our youngest birthday this weekend so we figured we would get him and his friends a place with a pool. Didn’t realize how much more we would get. This property is huge! So much to explore and beautifully taken care of. Kate was on top of all my questions responding almost immediately. Everything was clean as a whistle and we loved how well equipped it all was. The two oldest had their own cabin and couldn’t praise it enough. The pool house was amazing….the boys spent so much time in there. Will definitely be booking here again in the future. Thanks again to Kate and her awesome property!

Hellbender was a great stay! This is a hidden gem in the Smokies. The large cabin had all the amenities and more that we needed. The large kitchen with modern appliances was very nice. The smaller cabins were so perfect for our extended family to spread out and have some privacy. Although we only had 15 people, we did have four families and each got their own cabin. The highlight of our trip was the clubhouse. The indoor pool was a big hit with the kids. The cafeteria area in the club house is where we ate dinner each night. There was plenty of seating and also there was a smoker, which the men used for making brisket. The hangout area with theatre seating was the late night hangout for the adults. Although the drive into Pigeon Forge took about 30 minutes, it was a beautiful, scenic drive with no traffic until we actually got into Pigeon Forge. All in all we had a great time. Can't wait to come back!!!

We had an awesome family vacation! Our Family included 4 grandchildren 12,11, 10, 9 and 4 adults. The cabin was beautiful and has everything you need! It was exceptionally clean as well! Great outdoor area to play with the kids, we set up a badminton & volleyball net. There is a hiking trail, and fabulous pond for fishing. The pond was the grandkids favorite. A great plus is a generator for the cabin as well. There was a day of thunderstorms and the cabin lost power, but the generator kicked on immediately. Our family would definitely come back again! Thank you for a great family vacation!

One if not they best locations that we have stayed at in the 18 years of us coming to the Smokies! From the absolutely breathtaking views, the wildlife and the amazing trout pond it’s just a beautiful resort of it’s own! Wind and rain storm no worries this cabin has its own standby power so no outages like most other places, beautiful hiking trails on site just absolutely perfect!
