Vehicle, Boat and Watercraft Information:
We do not have a launching facility. Launching at LandsEnd is prohibited.
Due to limited parking we must strictly enforce the number of vehicles allowed at Sunrise Cove to 3. If you are bringing a boat or watercraft, prior to check in, you will need to launch it at Lake Nacimiento Resort and Marina and then drive the boat over to one of our private boat docks at LandsEnd. A map is available upon request. There is no room to maneuver or park a boat/watercraft trailer at LandsEnd, so trailers of any kind are not allowed on the property. We recommend parking your trailer at the Resort/Marina. Please note that LandEnd is in no way responsible for your trailer while at the Resort/Marina. Launching and trailer parking fees will apply through Lake Nacimiento Resort and Marina.
If you’ve been on mussel-infested waterbodies (i.e. Lake Castaic, Pyramid and Piru) within the last 30 days you will not be permitted to launch. **Please view our FAQ’s under the “Key Information” tab for info on mussel inspections.
Boat Docks at Property:
Lake water level is regularly fluctuating, the dock assigned to Sunrise Cove is dock 1. It is located towards the front of the property, down a path from Main House (Unit 1) and Sunrise Cove (Unit 3). This dock is accessed by walking down an uneven dirt path/trail. For a more current description please message us.
Note – Only one watercraft or boat per unit can be stored at our docks. If you have more than one watercraft, you must first talk to the onsite caretaker to see if there is room for an additional craft.
IMPORTANT Information – Before your arrival to the property, you will receive an email from Lakefront at LandsEnd that will provide you with additional information about your stay. Be sure to keep a lookout for the email as sometimes it can go into the spam folder. If you do not receive the email within 5 days of your stay, please contact LandsEnd. Enjoy your stay!
We just spent four days there with our family and best friends. We loved being right on the lake! The property owners and on-site property. Managers are absolutely awesome! So thoughtful for their communication and productivity. Sitting out on the balcony in the evening is dreamy. There are beautiful, white light strong all throughout the trees, and the view of the lake is stunning. The house is older, but has been upgraded. It is a Lakehouse, so I imagine that people to come and stay there Don’t take care of things like they would if it was their own property, like sitting on the couch with Suntan lotion. The only thing that surprised us that was not in the listing is the bedroom with the queen and twin bed does not have air conditioning. The weekend we were there, the temperatures were beautiful at night, so opening up the window made it comfortable.
Our family of 12 has a wonderful 4 days there. Since it was off season we had the dock & the area to ourselves. Nine of us stayed there with 3 coming for the day (asked permission beforehand). Make sure you follow their directions and not your gps once you get near by because we spent an hour going down & back Tierra Redondo Rd. The main drawback I had was the many signs telling you the $ penalties for doing something incorrectly. It detracted from the enjoyment, reminding you that you were at a rental & not a guest house. My communications with the staff were always pleasant.
My favorite place to stay at the lake! Everything is perfect!
This was a great lake house to stay in: close to the water, air conditioning, great dock, owners/ caretaker were wonderful. You felt like you were at the lake and it had a perfect view. Were going back next year!
Couldn't have been any better. Awesome experience.
The house was located in a very private lake front and the views were amazing. Serene, secluded, lovely. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because of the great company and overall relaxation. The pluses - Great to have a washer & dryer. We enjoyed the strung lights on the deck. Our issues with the place - Although it did say to bring your own sheets, towels, and pillow cases, bringing all those things made our cars so full, it was difficult to drive. The queen bed in one of the rooms - the one w/ a queen bed and day bed - was of such a poor quality we couldn't sleep. Any movement made the worst squeaky sound. The mattress needs to go! The sofa was very dirty as well. Overall the place was dusty and not clean. As for the dishes, something about the water, the dishwasher, and the dish washing soap produced the worst foggy water stains and we kept washing and rewashing in order to use them. The utensils were in even worse condition. They looked like they were corroding. There were absolutely no closet space so it was hard to keep the place looking tidy. I think if you don't mind roughing it, overall this place provides a nice private getaway.
We rented it for a High School girls reunion and had the best time. There was only 5 of us but another 2 could have come easily. Love the dock. We would take our drinks and snacks down and spend the day. Down side it is a bit of a drive on a windy road to get there. Try to get there in the light. Takes 30 minutes to get to the boat ramp (next to dam) and they charged too much. Ask owners about a different launch maybe. Owners are fantastic, lots of kayaks to play with and paddle boards. we'll be back next year.
My girlfriends and I spent a long weekend at this property. In an effort to be concise, here are my impressions: 1. This property is an hour away from downtown Paso Robles and even farther from the wineries. Once you leave you should plan on not returning until after dinner as again, the drive is so long. 2. The road to the property is long, winding, poorly maintained and has no lights. Not the owner's fault but plan on a very dark, rather creepy 5 mile drive once you leave the highway. 3. The driveway is unpaved and very steep. Four wheel or all wheel drive needed here. 4. There are no closets in this house consequently there are also no hangers. 4 women, no closets, no hangers....do the math. 5. Upon arrival we discovered paperwork for each of us to sign basically saying we hold the owners harmless for any injuries, etc, and to place them in the mailbox at checkout. We did not sign these documents and all felt this was something we all should have been presented with prior to arrival. Perhaps this property was not the best choice for us, if you want rustic and isolated this is for you. One last personal thing....in that neck of the woods there are tarantulas. This is not the property owners fault in any way but for me, that's a deal breaker.
It was mid December and I desperately needed a break from the city. Fully aware of the low lake levels and even lower lake temps this was a last minute getaway that I was extremely reluctant to follow thru with. As such, my expectations were certainly tempered when I decided to throw caution to the wind as it were and book my dates. Thankfully, it wasn't long before these expectations were surpassed. From the moment we drove through the large green iron entry gate my initial apprehensions were continually offset by the shear majesty, extreme serenity and welcoming feels like home quality of the private lakeside lodgings. As far as getaways go, LandsEnd goes along way indeed.
What a great experience we had at this house! We had a ton of questions about the property and lake conditions before booking, all were answered but most importantly all were answered correctly!! There were two family's, 8 people total. There was plenty of room for us. Nate and Mark (caretakers) were there to answer any questions we had or anything we needed. We brought our own boat, the lake was low as we expected but there was still plenty of water to have fun tubing, wakeboarding and wake surfing. We look forward to returning to this property in the future!!!
