Located just 25 minutes outside Port Angeles, our guests can enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Olympic Peninsula with easy access to town and some of the best hiking, hunting, fishing and exploring you will ever find. There is so much to do in and around the Olympic National Forest, so take your time and enjoy your stay!
Nearby Olympic National Park entrances like the Sol Duc, Hurricane Ridge, Hoh Rain Forest, Cape Flattery make this location an excellent "base camp" from which you can explore the Olympic Peninsula and towns like Forks, Neah Bay and beaches like Shi Shi Beach and Hobuck Beach. Explore the parks, walk the rivers (Dungeness, Elwha and many more), kayak on Lake Crescent or drop right in the Strait from our private boat ramp. Nice quaint cabin with a great view of the water. Rachael was super helpful.
I'm not quite sure how to rate this cabin - it's cute, clean, quirky but has a couple of issues. Pros: Spotlessly clean, well-equipped kitchen, great woodstove, plenty of free firewood, large living room and deck, plenty of hot water, spacious bathroom. Cons: the photos make it look like it overlooks the water with nothing between the cabin and the shore. In reality, there are numerous RVs and tents between you and the shoreline. The view is of the RV campground, with the sound in the distance. The RV next to the cabin is very close, and the path to the beach runs right by the deck of the cabin. Also, there is no door or curtain on the main bedroom. A curtain across the doorway would be a quick, cheap fix. The cabin is rustic and cute, but the price is rather high for what it is, we thought.
Beautiful location that really allows you to get away from everything. The cottage is cute and great for a family or a couple. Our hosts made check-in a breeze and provided excellent directions. Would definitely want to return.
Came for just one night with a few friends and it was perfect for us to crash after exploring Olympic and wake up to the beautiful view and beach just a short walk away. The beds were very comfortable and it’s a small place but cozy. Management was very communicative.
This was an extremely lovely and laid back stay tucked into the coastline of the Juan de Fuca. We will definitely come back again!!
Has an easy walk to the beach and great views from cabin
Took my friends kids here and we loved it. The cottage itself is gorgeous, and while it is in a shared location I still felt it was private enough. We enjoyed soaking up the sun on the porch, playing basketball on the court, and sitting on the swing that overlooks the water. There is wifi but I recommend not using it and using this place as an opportunity to disconnect :) I would love to come back and try one of the cabins right on the coast!
This was a perfect getaway for four women friends! Close to Salt Creek and tidepooling. Beds and the sea breeze were great. Beachcomber cottage was so charming and well-appointed. The outside environs are a bit cluttered is only drawback. We will definitely be back!
The place is great. It's cute, has all the comfy beds and well stocked kitchen, comfortable lounge chairs and sofa. The shower was an adventure and read the instructions in the house for best operation! The climb to the room upstairs is VERY steep and VERY narrow. Outside the property was the hardest for me. Lot's of junk and workshop type stuff. It felt like I was in the middle of someone else's property. A big bus sat in the yard just above and a cluttered garage of tools, parts, a car basically in the front yard. Not a deal breaker, but for me it was off-putting and I felt a little deceived by the picture/description. Also by the hard sell to rate the place highly. Otherwise- it was good for the overnight.
Small camping/rv/cottages park. Quiet location on the shore of the straight. Everything you need for a quiet time without the distractions of your hectic life. Also fun to see the different ideas they have for small cottages and A-frame tent camping. Lucky enough to catch the weather right and had mostly sunny weather. Good location to some of Olympic National Park activities.
Views were amazing. Cottage was very well appointed and offered everything you could need.
We called ahead and our cabin was ready even though we were VERY late. The place was better than advertised, clean, and a few minutes walk to the beach. Will return and recommend to others!
I would say the listing was overall accurate. The cabin was a little more rustic than I was hoping for. It had a very campground kind-of feel to it. There were RVs all around us which I have to say I probably wouldn't have booked the cabin if I'd known. It's a bit of a hike to the beach. And once you're there there are more tents and cabins. I thought it would be more private but also should have asked more questions. The host did provide towels, washcloths, and there were pots, pans, plates, bowels, cups, utensils, a coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, also a gas fireplace for chilly Washington mornings. Once on the beach, you can see right across the straight to the Canadian Mountains which is pretty cool. The town the cabin is located in is actually called Joyce, WA. It's a half hour drive to Port Angeles from there. But from the cabin, you're also a half hour drive to Lake Crescent which is without a doubt, the most beautiful Lake I've ever seen! You're 45 minutes from Dungeness nature preserve, about 1.5 hours from the Hoh rain forest (Hall of Mosses), 1.5 hours from Rialto Beach, and 2 hours from Kalaloch beach #4 which I though had the best tidal pools. These are all driving distances.
