This was an incredible place and Eric is so nice and a great chef!
Our trip to Ouray was amazing and the best part we stayed in a remote cabin, no clue what we signed up for when we went there, Eric the owner and host made everything easily for us to enjoy our off-road adventure thanks again for a wonderful time
Staying at Mt Hayden lodge was an amazing experience in one of the most beautiful settings. Eric was great at informing us of local hikes and information about the area and the lodge was warm and cozy. Definitely worth a visit!
If you’re like me and you love to get off the beaten path, there is no better location. The host and proprietor is very easy going and one heck of a cook. The cabin is amazing. How he built it and how he sustains it all year long is a wonder. This is a must visit.
For people that can get there is great. Eric makes a big dinner and like minded travelers are fun companions.
Beautiful area, but way off the beatin path. It is a very long hike if you do not have a high clearance off road 4x4. Eric was a great host and provided good food. Hike to top of Mount Hayden was AWESOME!
Great host
Amazing view! Great experience!!
My wife and I couldn’t believe where we were staying. We stayed during Jeep season and being a veteran 4-wheeler, it was quite an experience getting to this back country lodge. After a few trips up and down the mountain, you get used to it. Eric was very hospitable, a wonderful chef, and was so patient and informative with our 1001 questions about his life in the back country. Advice on hikes & 4-wheeling was freely given. We had the whole place to ourselves, so I’m sure it’s a different experience if you are with other guests that you do not know in his bunk -style accommodations. If you are into that, that can be a great experience in itself. FYI-He has a dog and a cat(who were delightful!) if you have allergies. We had lots of fun in the evenings playing cribbage together with Eric and we learned how to play properly?. Beware of too much wine and gummies, its a great place for both.!?
We were made to feel like family - even our dog. I would tell anyone that’s looking to stay here - definitely do it. You will not be disappointed!!!
Our stay was amazing. The cabin itself is completely off the grid, and can only be accessed with a legit 4x4 vehicle. Eric, the owner, provided an amazing breakfast and dinner for all guests every day and the food did not disappoint. The location is spectacular with several peaks to hike and is right next to one of Colorado's most famous 4x4 trails--Imogene Pass. The perfect place to get away and explore the best of Colorado.
Located on Imogene pass it is a beautiful and rustic location taking about 90 minutes by 4wd to reach from ouray,co the host is very friendly and welcoming. The lodge is set up for large groups with two different areas that can be used for sleeping. The host set my wife and I in our own private area for sleeping and we shared one of the main two bath rooms located in central part of lodge. The food was very good and generous in portion unfortunately I was not able to stay entire time that I booked due to work emergency.. This is a perfect place for hikers, runners and anyone that enjoys the beautiful San Juan mountains
This remote mountain cabin has everything i needed for my 3 day stay. The meals were excellent and the cabin accommodations were outstanding. This is perfect for off road enthusiasts and climbers. This would be amazing in the winter too. Thanks
Really awesome views and proximity to mountains. Great for summer but definitely need a high clearance vehicle.
Wonderful unique cabin in the woods. Remote, perfect for hikers with dogs. Great food.
I can't say enough for Eric and his lodge. Very very cool and very remote. Eric was a great host and an even better cook, preparing every meal himself and very very good food. He comes from a cooking background. A 4 wheel drive is required to get there, since most of the drive once you get off road will need to be done in 4 low!!
