Pros: great location, spacious, very clean, super prompt maintenance, lots of NOLA character. Off street parking was great. Coffeemaker broke and a new one was provided immediately, as was a fan for one warmer bedroom. Cons: water pressure in several bathrooms was nonexistent…showers were not usable and we had to wash hair leaning over tub. A couple of us lived in the lower garden district and we did not find this typical of old houses. The AC in all bedrooms reset to 83 F in the middle of the night…we learned that this couldn’t be changed so every night we woke up so hot and had to adjust thermostat at least once. Overall, great place—it’d be perfect if the showers were working and the AC stayed on all night!
Everything great
Loved staying in this house and area. Made me feel like part of New Orleans. It was in walking distance of a coffee shop, great breakfast and brunch place called Surreys, trolley was a few blocks away. Also ate dinner at Lulus and it was wonderful. All bedrooms were spacious and had great beds. Just a heads up about front bedroom, if you like dark quiet places to sleep this room isn’t for you. We didn’t think about it but it was still great.
This house was amazing. Its location provided ease to access all the cities amenities and had great local restaurants and things to do with easy walking distance. I would highly recommend this house. The owner was nice and the property manager Paul was very friendly and accommodating.
The description and the photos are spot on. We had some confusion with the door keys and the check out time, but the owner was able to clear up the check-out time for us the morning of. It's a great place to stay for a weekend in New Orleans. We'd stay here again anytime.
We really enjoyed our stay. The home is in a great location in the city. The home itself is beautiful and very comfortable. We highly recommend it!
Loved our stay at this charming property!
Great location, accurately described. Courtyard was a great place to hang out. Water pressure was terrible, toilets were iffy, showers were mostly claw-foot tubs with an icky curtain that you touched constantly. Also the front and back doors were laughably bad and hard to open/close completely. That said, the house was good for our group and I probably would return if I needed somewhere for a group to stay... we'd just know to take turns and only use the two modern showers.
Each bedroom has a private bath!! Kitchen is well equipped. Patio is a great gathering place. Easy communication with owner. I’ll stay there next time I’m in NOLA!
Love the history of the place. It is very charming and had no problems accommodating our group (2 couples and 2 singles) as we were in town for a conference. Location is close to many restaurants and within walking distance of the river, French Quarter etc. We did not have a car and never used a taxi. It is a 100 plus year old house and if you are expecting somethig shiny and new this is not the place for you. The beds are comfortable and check in and out was a breeze.
