Stayed Dec 31, 1969If you love nature, peace, silence and a really warmhearted family around you, then this is the absolutly right place for you to be. You have the sea in front of you, with the nature around you in a wonderful view, in a wonderful romantic big house. The rooms are really nice, big, absolutely clean, big cupboard, Ventilator's etc, everything you need is there. The bed is also big and we slept sooo well. Same in the bathroom, it is absolutely clean, nice shower/bathtub, big mirror, toilet, you have all. We had bed and breakfast. So also the breakfast was super. Always different, selfmade Marmelades, with fruits from the own garden, eggs, perfect coffee, delicious bread, etc. If you prefer cheese or salami or so for breakfast, no problem. You can have also this. The familiy is sooo very warmhearted and always friendly, we really felt like home. Especially Magda became a friend for me. And not to forget 'Balu'. Balu is the dog which is looking for the house and the family and he is such a cutie, we really love him and miss him already. Also there are many other animals around, cute, little foxes, cat's, lizard's, and so many more. You will also find a big olive grove, many big cacti and lots of other wilderness around the house and among the mountain. The beach and the next village are not far away, maybe ca. 5 min by car. You can also get to the next bigger cities in ca. half an hour, like to Trapani for example. Even San Vito lo capo is not far away, maybe 10 min by car. So this is a real little paradies and we really hope to come back again someday. And Magda, Marcello, the two son's and Balu are the best and warmhearted hosts. We had only one week to stay, sadly and we miss you already. Thanks so much for all, dear Magda and Marcello. All the best for you. Kerstin and Christian

Stayed Dec 31, 1969There Is a town in north western Sicily, just east of Trapani, named Purgatorio ; if you do not linger you will arrive to Marcello Fanara's bed and breakfast on the outskirts of Castelluzzo an enchanting corner of paradise . Your host is a Palermitano by birth but a country gentleman at heart. He oversees his country home establishment with passion and graceful hospitality. I stayed in the front first floor double room for 4 nights at the end of April 2016 and with selfish reluctance I have only good things to say. • Position : For the seekers of nature and just enough off the beaten track seclusion look no further. • Host : Kind, generous, and professional. • As Advertised: Much better. • Accessibility: A short narrow but manageable access road, a bit is unpaved, a no high heels path. • Bed and Bath: Very comfortable, roomy and functional. (I had shared bath but no other guests during my stay ) but if sharing bath with friends or family would be no hardship. • Breakfast : Lovely lazy morning on the terrace with fresh eggs if requested but it is Marcello's homemade orange marmalade and fresh squeezed orange juice that take the prize. • Local knowledge: Marcello offers helpful suggestions to tour the region and enjoy it at its' best. All points easily accessible by day trips are: NATURE and HIKING: Natural reserves of Monte Cofano and Lo Zingaro WWF Riserve of the Laguna dello Stangnone CITY Tours: Trapani Marsala Erice Palermo HISTORY: Temples of Segesta Selinunte Ruderi di Gibellina - the rural village destroyed by earthquake in 1968; now an artistic monumental testament made by the artist Alberto Burri who covered the ruins in concrete, while preserving the streetscape. INDUSTRY Le Saline di Trapani and Marsala’s Batello Isola Mozia Boat Tour Vinyards and Cantine of Florio and Planeta Tonnari of Favgignana (2 hour tours on weekend mornings only) and Bonagia BEACHES: Numerous inlets along the coasts San Vito Lo Capo Scopello Porto Palo Mondello Marzara del Vallo Short ferry ride to Offshore Islands: Favignana or Levano Highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast and this enchanting region.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Marcello and Makda are perfect hosts, generous and discrete at the same time. Their house has been restored with care and taste and is ideally placed in a secluded and preserved area. Views over the sea and Monte Cofano are superb and we enjoyed gorgeous sunsets. Breakfast and dinner are made with homemade products by Makda who is an excellent cook. Marcello provided very helpful touristic recommandations. Lots of interesting sites and places in the vicinity. A place to recommand to anyone curious and respectful.
