New Orleans, Louisiana
The moment you enter this lovely unit, the calm will wash over you. Decorated with a collection of eclectic Buddha and Indian art, this 1 bedroom unit will be your peaceful retreat from the fun and bustle of the Big Easy. There is great natural light!
The bedroom has a memory foam King Bed with super fine high thread count sheets. An antique Indian furniture collection complements modern amenities including full kitchen with gas stove, microwave and toaster over.
The living room is comfortable enough for relaxing or eating with a couple of friends. There is cable TV and WiFi.
There are 2 upper units: Zen 1 and Zen 2. We can rent each one individually or rent them together with the pass thru door unlocked, so it acts like a 2BR/2BA.
The neighborhood is nice and quiet. You are a short walk to coffee shops and Magazine St retail boutiques. Whole Foods is a few minutes away.
Public transit is 1 block away.
There is a large back yard with a BBQ and patio furniture as well as newly redone off street parking.
Also there are porches front and back.
This apartment is unique in its decor. You will feel at home with beautiful art beside modern conveniences. The location can't be beat. This unit can be combined with other properties for larger groups.
Your host is also a great source of suggestions on things to do and places to see not to be missed in the culturally rich city of New Orleans.
This was a perfect spot for us to stay while visiting friends and family in the greater New Orleans area from Kenner to Slidell to the French Quarter, this place is right near it all and an easy drive to any of those places. Public transportation is just a block away and can also take you anywhere in the GNO area you need to be. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a couple of blocks from Magazine, with pretty much any kind of shop, bar or restaurant you could possibly want. The bed is super comfortable and the climate control works great! There’s a lovely private yard and patio, great to hang out with our doggie and sip a drink, and the balcony on either end is also a nice afternoon sitting spot. We wanted for nothing and during our one self induced crisis Gary was immediately responsive and helpful, thank you Gary. This was an excellent rental.
Gary was very responsive and welcoming upon our checkin. He was initially responsive when we noted a non-functioning smoke detector - he replaced immediately. However, as the 4 week stay moved along, problems occurred, from a neighbor who was irate we were there (with our dogs), to a dishwasher that needed replacement (workers in the unit), realization I overpaid, and at the 3rd week, my car window was smashed out (despite nothing inside the car) and police said it happens frequently along this location (despite reassurances that it never happens by Gary.....). We were pretty upset that the car was vandalized and no Gary help at that point. We felt unsafe - my son (age 10) and I moved out that same day 5 days early to a hotel. On the positive side, shower worked well, full size refrigerator and comfy bed. Safety however is a priority for me (single mom waiting to close on a new home). Conversation with the responding police officer was eye-opening. Left feeling like a fool - overpaid and underdelivered stay.
This was a perfect location to so many wonderful restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the house. Parking is off street, however, we had no difficulty with parking near the property. Gary also made sure the house was warmed prior to our arrival. He will want to meet you sometime during your stay to ensure that everything is ok with the place.
Older unit in a great location. Property was somewhat compromised secondary to the recent hurricane and repairs in the next unit. Overall, a nice place to stay.
This fun unit is great for a weekend away. Nice neighborhood, comfy bed and space to spread out.
Perfect uptown location with easy street parking...and Gary (the owner/host) warmly greeted us when we arrived at the property. Highly recommend⚜️
Gary was great at communicating and greeted us when we arrived. The bedroom and family room were very comfortable. The flooring in the kitchen and bathroom need to be updated but overall the property was as presented and in a great location for us.
Experience the charm of New Orleans in this restored duplex off Magazine St. High ceilings, porches, two spacious bedrooms with private baths, updated kitchen, separate laundry room, and pet friendly! I loved walking to Whole Foods for snacks, Pj's for daily coffee, and all around Audubon Park with my dog Wesley each morning. Gary was a grand and generous host.
Property was in the same block as our daughter’s house!
The owner is bright and energetic! Dude is cool and helped us out with directions. Loved him! The spot is just what I was looking for. neighborhood is safe and clean. 25 minutes from the French quarter
