Wayfarer is a beautifully renovated 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of Port Douglas, designed in the spirit of the fun loving seafarers, explorers of the Tropics and all other gypsies who love all of the 21st century mod cons. Only 5 minutes from the main street and the stunning Four Mile beach, Wayfarer is the perfect nook for 2 couples holidaying together or for a couple with 2 children. Ideally located and superbly appointed, this apartment will be one of the highlights of your holiday.r>
The apartment has just undergone a full renovation which gave us the opportunity to unleash our creativity and showcase our fascination with Far North Queensland and the South Pacific.
The apartment has two bedrooms, one king size and another king that can be split into two singles, one bathroom and a large kitchen and dining/lounge area overlooking the garden. For those of you who have young children we can provide a cot, cot linen, a stroller and a high chair, not to mention children`s toys and books!
The residents of Cascades hardly use the pool so you are very likely to have it all for yourself while staying at the apartment.

Guests will have access to the whole apartment and parking space

The Cascades units are located within walking distance of the supermarket in town, the beach, or even the marina. Enjoy a quick walk or a bike ride into town and enjoy the wealth of wildlife on the Melaleuca forest strip around the corner.

From Wayfarer it is a 7 minute walk into town along the what is left of Port Douglas` Melaleuca forest or a 2 minute bike ride into Macrossan Street. Walking and bike riding should be on top of your list when it comes to getting around but you can also catch a bus along Davidson street, 20 meters around the corner from the apartment.
Wayfarer is located within a quiet residential block of apartments. We ask that you please keep the volume to a reasonable level and respect the neighbours’ living spaces.

AIRCONDITIONERS:
Please ensure that all windows, the bathroom & external doors are closed when using the aircon. The recommended temperature setting is 25degC so please change it back to 25 before switching it off, ready for the next guests.

COFFEE MACHINE:
You will find the manual for the coffee machine in the bottom drawer in the kitchen.

TV:
The Smart TV has access to Netflix and catch up TV, as well as the standard free to air channels.

For catch up TV:

ABC iView - switch the channel to ABC (002) then press the red button twice.

SBS On Demand - switch the channel to SBS (003) then press the red button twice

Plus 7 - switch the channel to 7 (070) then press the red button twice

Freeview + - switch to ABC, SBS or 7 then press the red then green buttons.

Netflix: press the Netflix button and watch on the Wayfarer or Kids’ account

Press the HOME button for other apps. From here you can watch YouTube, Crackle or log into your Foxtel Now acc.

If you’ll like to connect your laptop or other device to the TV there is an HDMI cord in the top right drawer of the TV console.

CHROMECAST:
If you would prefer to stream your own media to the TV there is chromecast installed. Simply switch the input to HDMI 1 and tap on the cast icon on your device.

GAMES:
You’ll find some family games in the drawers of the TV & cane consoles. There are also some kids’ games and toys in the wardrobe of the second bedroom.

SHOPPING BAGS:
There are reusable shopping bags in a basket under the kitchen sink. Qld has banned single-use plastic bags so feel free to use these for your shopping.

BINS:
Wayfarer’s outside bin is located in the bin enclosure at the entrance to the driveway (Mudlo St). Please use the green bin labelled 8 for your general rubbish and put your recyclables in the bins with the yellow lids.

BEACH:
The closest access to the beach is off Sand St. Walk east along Blake St, crossing Davidson St and continuing. Turn right on Garrick & left onto Tide until you reach Sand St. Along Sand there are a couple of paths through the foreshore vegetation and onto the beach. IMPORTANT: read the board at the Lifesaver Hut for current swimming conditions and dangers before swimming.

In addition to the beach towels (in the basket on the balcony) we have provided a couple of beach chairs, picnic blanket & a picnic basket. There are plastic plates, bowls, cups & glasses which can be used on picnics or by the pool.

We have also gathered some brochures for local activities we recommend and stored them in a display folder in the drawer of the cane console. In the interest of reducing waste please return any brochures to the folder for the next guests to enjoy.

BIKE HIRE:
No need for a car when staying at Wayfarer as you’re right in the middle of town and it’s an easy stroll to Macrossan St, the Marina & Four Mile Beach. Bikes can be another fun way of getting around and we recommend contacting portdouglasbikehire.com .
