Ventnor getaway

This place far exceeded my expectations….That is until the owner’s crazy mom started yelling at me & my cousin & my dog while we were relaxing on the second floor deck hours after checking in. This lady started shouting at me from the sidewalk, accusing me of lying about my dog’s size - even though I had asked the owner (her son) permission BEFORE I even booked the place. He said it was fine as well as mentioned he lived on first floor. Mom asks her son if he gave me the ok- he admitted he did - so then she begins to berate him in front of us and some passerby’s, & starts saying stuff like ‘oh that’s great…now your dog will be pooping and peeing all over the house”. I was so in shock, I was shaking. She then accused me of lying about how many people were staying. She said I only booked for 1 person-I said mam, I plugged in 4 adults in my initial VRBO search- told the owner if they could track my ‘cookies’ they’d know I wasn’t lying. I did tell him that I noticed on the final booking confirmation email it did say 1 adult but I went back and plugged in 4 adults and the price didn’t change, so I didn’t bother calling VRBO combined w/ the fact this has happened before on the app (place sleeps up to 6). And why would I have any reason to lie about my daughter, my cousin, & her finance coming to stay with me when I knew owner lived on 1st FL BEFORE BOOKING? I would never jeopardize a vacation rental by lying. The mom ruined my only weekend getaway I had taken this year :(

The apartment was nice it was a little dirty. The one bedroom with the 3 beds smelled like a cat. There was cat fur on the light on the table I took the light off the table. The owner was remolding the apartment and it showed. In a good way! The master bedroom bed was very comfortable. The bathroom's were very nice. Plenty of parking on the side of the property and very close to everything. My only concern was the apartment needs a very good cleaning and to get rid of the cat smell.
