Stayed Apr 29, 2024Would absolutely stay here again! Lodgings were comfortable with lovely views of the red rocks right outside the window. We were provided with everything needed to make fresh, french-press coffee each morning, which helped get our day started so much quicker. The hot tub was a wonderful place to relax at the end of a long day of hiking, with unblocked views of the stars above. Based on other reviews, we thought we may hear neighbors through the shared wall with Desert Retreat, but it was completely quiet throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this property for anyone staying in the area. It was a slightly further drive to popular hikes like the Subway and Bear Mountain on the West end of town, but the proximity to Uptown shops was unbeatable, and the drive to the West end was very easy.

Stayed Jan 15, 2026Host arrived at check in time. We were early and found the key in the door. Would have liked communication that that was the process.

Stayed Nov 25, 2025Pros: LOCATION and hot tub. Cons: no plugs or outlets near bedside tables for convenient charging. Bring adapters. There is a large transition strip/board between bedroom and kitchen area that I tripped on constantly. Toilet seat was not attached. Need more towel hooks. All this being said, I’d stay here again for the easy walkability, views and hot tub. Just some minor updates would be super helpful.

Stayed Sep 26, 2025A nice enough property in a great location but beware that there is next to no soundproofing. An adjacent property rented out by the same landlord can have loud guests, and you can hear their stay to the level of conversations and them using the toilet. We were kept up by their lively evening. Not necessarily the host’s fault but it may impact your stay.

Stayed Apr 30, 2025Patio needed repair. Bed, bedding and towels should be updated. TV was not user friendly. The kitchen was adequate for our needs. Loved the hot tub, and the rustic setting of the unit. Loved access to the commercial district.

Stayed Sep 28, 2024We appreciated our stay at the Zen Studio, but had some minor inconveniences: The door does not have a deadbolt or security lock, just a door handle twist lock. There is a large gap under the door, big enough for the mouse we found in the VRBO to come in, which we had to then chase around and out the door. We contacted the host about the mouse and they said they would “let the owner know” and we heard nothing after that, VRBO itself was no help either. We shoved a towel under the door to prevent more critters from coming in. The bed is VERY soft, which works great for a lot of people but not everyone. The studio has an AC swamp cooler in the wall (shown in pictures) as the only cooling system, for which you are instructed by the host to open the windows 6” for it to cool the space at a decent rate. There is not a microwave in the unit, only a toaster oven and an electric portable burner (we should have looked closer at the pictures… we thought the toaster oven in pics was a microwave). The pictures are not up to date as there is some different furniture and furnishings now. There was also hair on the bedspread and floor of the bathroom when we arrived, as well as a towel with makeup stains on it. Pleasant surprises: oils diffuser, herbal tea provided, nice new windows, quaint space, no noise issues, tv (we didn’t turn it on).

Stayed May 24, 2024Minus a little miscommunication about the location of the key when we checked in, our stay was flawless. Property was clean and set up as advertised. When we did have an issue finding the key, Skye responded within 30min. There were other guests staying in the adjacent property, they were very nice and respectful as well. Property is in premium location uptown; it is walking distance from a bunch of cute shops and restaurants - We went on a busy high tourist/holiday weekend and traffic was pretty nuts trying to get back uptown after exploring different areas of Sedona (took 30m to drive the final 2 miles during peak hours) but as long as we anticipated that it didn’t interfere with our ability to have a relaxing visit. Would stay there again and recommend to family/friends.
