Ulysses Suites has just been completed inside the historic J. G. Schmohl building in the heart of downtown Galena, located at 213 to 217 S. Main Street. The location is walking distance to all the best restaurants and shops. We have 7 suites and a beautiful lobby that are modern and luxurious, with lots of historical character and texture as a nod to its previous existence as the Grant Hotel from 1895 to 1933. The Presidential Suite 303 is located on the 3rd floor.

Stayed Oct 3, 2024Absolutely stunning apartment. The whole building is beautifully finished. My boyfriend and I kept talking about how much we would've loved to live in the apartment that we rented. It was immaculate. Beautifully decorated. Comfortable beds. Gorgeous high ceilings. A cozy fireplace. Perfectly located and walkable to every shop you would want to visit on Main Street. Every bit of information that you would need to have on how something worked or what to do was in a nice book on the counter. They also had recommendations for places and a welcoming gift of delicious macarons from a local bakery. Honestly of all the places that I've ever stayed in a VRBO, this was the best. Check in and check out was incredibly easy. The owner was incredibly kind and accommodating, and let us move our check-in date back a day due to an issue that came up on our end. We can't recommend this place highly enough and we will definitely be back. We'd love to try out the other spaces that they have in their building.
