Johnson City, Texas
Welcome to dark sky country! Tiny house with a quaint kitchen, bathroom with shower and 13 fenced acres of field and live oaks. Five minutes from downtown Johnson City or Pedernales State Park. 20 minutes from the center of Dripping Springs and under an hour to Austin. Owners live on the property. A sleeping loft holds a queen bed and an xl twin daybed doubles as a couch for the flat screen tv. The cabin has a dedicated wifi network and the tv comes equipped with a Roku stick with "guest mode" so you can access your own streaming services.
We have two friendly dogs who often roam the property. They may bark but are not aggressive and would love to play with any dogs who come to visit! If you'd prefer they remain away from the cabin during your stay just let us know.
Please note that the map on VRBO is incorrect - it shows the address in the middle of downtown Johnson City. The property is actually a few miles east of Johnson City just off of route 2766, about half way to Pedernales Falls State Park.
Can't beat the location. 7 minutes from Pedernales Falls state and Johnson City. The climb up to the 2nd story loft felt a little treacherous at first, as my 6'6 height makes tight spaces always challenging. That said, I got used to the climb.
Very clean, fully equipped, quiet, close to everything. Comfortable bed, nice private porch. I will book again when in the area.
The rustic cabin was cozy with everything we needed. We sat on the porch and enjoyed the wildlife and the peaceful surroundings. It’s close to the road but hardly any traffic and there were enough trees around to block the view of the road. Inside was well done and comfortable. We’d definitely stay again!
We were in town for the weekend and this well maintained cabin was great! The a/c worked well, the wifi and roku were really easy to access, it felt rural but safe and there were super thoughtful amenities and touches throughout like waters, linens, fans, games, etc.
Great
Went there for our anniversary and first thing had a difficult time getting in the gate cuz Vrbo hadn’t given us the correct gate code. My fault on this is that I didn’t realize it was the opposite direction of everything we wanted to do so did more driving than we wanted. Right by the road so had a few noises during the night.
The tiny house was just perfect for us and our dogs. We had a great relaxing weekend.
Good location for us, about an hour from Austin, San Antonio, Fredericksburg. Rural but easy to find. Security gate easy to use. Cabin is at the front of large property so host is available if needed. AC unit and space heater kept us comfortable. Kitchen and bathroom has hot water and basic amenities. Beds were very comfortable. WiFi and Roku TV worked great. We were there a week so we hand washed clothes and made a clothes line to use. Very pleasant to sit on porch in rocking chair and enjoy the quiet scenery. Johnson City is 6 miles away with cute shops, restaurants and a grocery store. But we mostly hiked. Be sure to reserve day passes ahead of time if you hike. LBJ sites in Stonewall are totally worth it. We would definitely stay here again. You’re getting a simple cabin in the woods but it has all the comforts of home.
This property was one of the best vacation spots I have stayed at. It was so comfy and cute, perfect for some alone time to relax and unwind. It felt safe & private, and the amenities were so thoughtful- with snacks in the fridge, board games, books, soft blankets, easy tv login, etc. Additionally, the hosts were very responsive and accommodating! I can’t wait to come back and stay again!
Cabin was appointed well for our 3 night stay, Beds were memory foam type and firm enough to be comfy all night, TV had guest setup for our streaming services. Note lower water pressure (hill country normal). Host is great, very responsive and helpful if needed.
This cabin was exactly what we needed for two days of bottling at Garrison Brothers Distillery. The kitchen had what we needed and the bed in the loft was very comfortable. The WiFi worked great, so we were able to watch our Netflix shows from the comfort of the daybed downstairs. It's located about halfway in between Johnson City and Pedernales Falls, so the location is just right. We'll definitely stay here again.
