While the place was charming, the stove and oven were old and didnt work as expected. On the positive side, fresh eggs from resident chickens were supplied as well as most condiments.
Very safe location with automatic gate that locks behind vehicle
This unit is quiet and cozy, on a very secure property, just minutes from downtown Roseburg. Our host was very welcoming and friendly. It's a farm-type environment, with chickens and horses, surrounded by trees, givng a very secluded feeling conveniently close to the city. The full kitchen even included some fresh eggs! There were three of us, and even with just one bedroom, we did not have to double up. One bed, one large and comfy sofa, and a comfortable cot worked out fine. Could not have asked for better. I am so glad I chose this place to book. Highly recommend.
This was a stopover for us. Loved how quaint, cute and restful our stay was.
Such a treat to find this red barn, complete with chickens & horses! Had fresh eggs and coffee for breakfast.
Very relaxing. Close to the Redwood Forest.
This is a great location for either going to the waterfront area or if we’re going to the redwood forest. The host was very friendly, communicative, and responsive to any needs.
Aneka was very welcoming and her property is beautiful. We loved the horses and chickens on the property. The drive to the entrance of the Redwoods is only about 10 minutes away.
Perfect hideout amongst the redwoods!! Owner was awesome! Very safe and secure, close to everything! We didn’t want to leave!
Everything was perfect. Aneka is a wonderful and caring host. Place was adorable, comfortable and with all the amenities of home. Chickens would greet us in the yard. Great experience!!! Highly recommend!! Very close to redwoods.
The host was a bit too chatty. I didn't realize we were going to have to deal with a gate until the day before our arrival. The kitchen had a tiny sink and was difficult to wash dishes. While the ability to cook a meal was what drew us to this space, the reality was a bit clunky. The cutting board was too large for the sink for example and made a large water mess when cleaning it. The stairs leading up to the rental door were soaking wet and the metal gate you walked through had green algae growing on it that got on your hands every time you opened and closed the latch. There was a perfume or scent on the sheets that were too strong and distracted from sleep. There was no extra sheets or pillowcase for the guest cot. I booked with all my information and yet when I arrived the host stated that I had not paid for the pet fee. I entered all the guest information that was asked of me when booking through Expedia. I'm not sure where the problem occurred, but it was annoying to not have this extra cost listed before we booked the reservation. Hidden costs are why I won't be using Vrbo again. I booked through an Expedia search and so that is likely the issue. But, it's not the consumer's fault if these platforms can't coordinate among themselves. This host obviously has a ton of privilege and I felt there was a bit of a shakedown of a low-income family with a disabled child for a measly $20. The host is what we call fake nice and that made me feel uneasy.
Just as advertised, I would stay here again
It’s not always easy to travel with a larger dog, but Aneka was extremely welcoming and made it so easy to stay. Her apartment was clean, warm and perfect for our quick visit to the Redwoods!
Comfortable lodging in a great location, convenient to town, beach and redwoods. Aneka is warm, welcoming and fun to talk with. She answered all our questions immediately.
Enjoyed a 3-night stay to see redwoods. This lodging is located in a rural neighborhood at a 10-minute drive from Crescent City town center and harbor. Greeted by helpful and generous host, who offered treats like eggs from her free-range chickens. Stairs up to a 2nd-floor loft for cozy hide-away.
This is a cozy cottage as advertised. A bit rustic, and small, but warm and welcoming. We got rained in one day and this was a perfect cozy place to spend the day. Aneka provided fresh eggs and tips on where to go. This spot is close to the ocean beaches and the redwood forests as well as a nice town to replenish travel supplies, eat out, etc. We stayed 3 nights and very much enjoyed our stay.
We had such a great stay here! Aneka was such a great host--so accommodating and friendly! The space was cozy and just what we needed. The location is perfect for exploring the Redwoods or coastal CA towns. We would definitely stay here again!
Cozy and comfortable!
Not so inviting entry way. Cobwebs everywhere, dirty windows. Windows were open to cool the room down, and we found it full of flies from the nearby horses, because there was no screen on one of the windows. I feel cheated because there was a cleaning fee and it didn't look all that clean.
The host was friendly and the apartment was comfortable.
