Stayed Jul 2, 2022Stayed in Salerno for 4 weeks with goal of getting a more “authentic” feel for Italian living and avoiding more expensive & touristy places like Sorrento & Amalfi Coast and to use as a base for Naples, Amalfi Coast, and Southern Italy day trips. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in exploring Salerno and the surrounding areas! Pros: * Checking in & out were smooth and Giuseppe was very responsive to any questions we had. * Building is secure and in a safe neighborhood. * Location is great for everything you want to do in the Rione Duomo & Centro Storico * Everything available 2 blocks away. * Under 10 mins to walk to Duomo-Via Vernieri metro stop; about 20 mins to walk to the main Salerno train station; and about 15 min walk to Molo Manfredi ferry terminal * Apartment is clean, spacious, bright, and beds are comfortable w/ plenty of space for storage. * 2 air conditioners * Small washing machine & options to air dry indoors or outdoors + ironing board with iron. * Kitchen has everything you need to cook basic meals. * Excellent wi-fi speed & plenty of outlets. Cons (but not dealbreakers for us): * Kitchen is small for prep space * Rainfall shower pressure is not very strong * If coming up Via Canali, street is very steep - don’t attempt w/ suitcases! * Pics showed 6 pillows but only 2 available upon arrival so we had to buy more

Stayed Sep 26, 2025It was a lovely room in the old town. The only downside was the stairs (i.e. no lift to the first floor), but our host was excellent and helped us carry our heavy bags up to the apartment. The facilities were everything that we required for our short stay; there was a Moka for making coffee (we had decaf coffee in the evening using this) as well as a Nescafé coffee machine to make espresso. The kitchen facilities were good, and we managed to cook without any problems. Our bed was comfortable and we slept well, especially after walking down to the port for our day trip to Amalfi and Positano. There were no problems with noise on the street, as other reviewers had reported, but we were given a rude awakening when the dustbin collectors arrived at 04:30 to collect the bins, and then again at 06:30 when they came again to collect the bottles! It was a surprise we hadn't expected :-)Overall, a good experience.

Stayed Sep 11, 2024For the most part the apartment was clean and the bed was comfortable. The apartment has plenty of storage. The entire building is under construction and lots of dirt from the outside gets inside. The noise from the construction starting at 7-8 am on most days was very disturbing. There were days that jack hammers were used right outside the door. In addition, the traffic and people talking outside the window sometimes until 1am, made it difficult to sleep. I had to wear ear plugs to fall asleep. The bathroom floods from poor drainage in the shower (would recommend a bathroom renovation). The kitchen is very small and basically has no counter space. Missing window privacy slats in the kitchen. The location of the apartment was good, close to train station and ferries for day trips. Good food in the area. I do recommend the area but would definitely find an apartment in a more quiet building. Also, stairs to go up to the apartment are steep and may not be suitable for everyone.

Stayed Sep 4, 2023Conveniently located in the old town, very short walk to the beach too. It has everything we wanted: air-conditioner, fridge, washing machine. The steps from the street to the first floor were a bit unexpected, not a problem for us, but might be for some people.

Stayed Jun 7, 2023Excellent apartment in a great location. A SHORT walk to the beach. Easy walk to the local train station and a 15 minute walk from the Salerno Stazione or the ferry port. A little loud overnight because it’s above a street (not busy, just the occasional normal city scooters).

Stayed Jun 4, 2023We had a great time, the house is located in the center of the nightlife with shops, pubs and restaurants practically under the house. The house has everything you need to feel like your own home. Experience to be repeated.
