Sunny Coach House in Historic Oak Park

Cozy, quiet, perfect...

This was a great location for our weekend visiting family in this area but also for taking the train downtown. It was a comfortable space and roomier than being in a hotel. Location is very quiet, unless owner opens the garage door which is immediately under the sleeping area. I recommend this spot if you need to be in the Oak Park area!

The owner of the property would answer my questions immediately. He was kind and explained everything. When we arrived the rooms were warm and lights were on. They had a book inside explaining everything as well. It was just a sweet small place we needed to visit our daughter for a short weekend. It was safe and quiet. I highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful studio in the heart of the historic district with a very homey feel. I work in Chicago and this gave me an ability to cook meals and feel more “normal” than in a hotel. Beautiful street, nice neighborhood, comfy bed, great hosts. I would stay there again.

Lovely apartment above the coach house in the best possible location for exploring Frank Lloyd Wright historical homes and structures. Highly recommend.

A VRBO property that was private, well stocked, free parking and affordable. The hosts were easy to contact though my stay was problem free. The Oak Park neighborhood is beautiful, historic and a paradise only 9 miles from the Loop and a short train ride into a great American city. And for a fan of architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright this property is a wonderful home base.

We had a lovely stay at the coachhouse. Everything was as described and the neighbourhood was just beautiful. Off street parking was such a bonus in Oak Park. Very happy to recommend this home!

Everything we wanted. Clean, safe, peaceful and wonderful neighborhood to walk. Very patient and responsive owners when I mishandled the keypad lock. Will definitely stay again when visiting Chicago in the future.

Nice quiet romantic location for a getaway in a beautiful, historic neighborhood. Close to some excellent dining and worth just walking around and gawking at the beautiful mansions throughout the area. The architecture is amazing and the hosts were extremelt responsive and excellent to work with. Will definitely stay again.

The hosts were very nice - allowed us to check in early. The place was clean and neat. The only issue was the lighting in the driveway. The lighting directly in front of the carriage house was fine, there was no lighting on the driveway leading up to the carriage house. We had evening events and ladies in heels need a well-lit path.

We had a fantastic time at the Sunny Coach House in Oak Park. The communication from our host was clear so we had no issues during our check-in or check-out. The apartment was very spacious and well equipped, which made our stay very comfortable. This apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood and very close to coffee shops and all kinds of stores. We highly recommend it.

Easy walking through beautiful neighborhoods to downtown Oak Park. The booking process was easy with Andy and Lia responding quickly and answering all my questions. I would definitely book again. The place was really cozy. 2 adult sisters - One of us slept in the bedroom and the other on the couch which was perfect. The coach house is very convenient to restaurants and shopping areas in Oak Park. Very walkable. Its on a beautiful street. Check in instructions were clear and the host was very responsive and friendly. Getting there from O'hare was quick and easy. We would book again.

Bright, open property complete with kitchen, large living room and walled sleeping room. We enjoyed the location and beautiful neighborhood of this 2nd floor Coach house. Excellent bed, and quiet for sleeping. Mini split worked well to control temperature of the rooms. Ceiling fan was helpful as well.If we need to come back we will probably rent again.Host was quick to respond to any questions and provided detailed instructions.

Cozy studio close to many restaurants, shops, groceries. Easy , secure entry. Beautiful setting in historic district. Accommodation was pleasantly decorated and equipped. Wi-Fi worked well. Bed is comfortable. I would stay here again!

Cozy little place. Great, walkable neighborhood. Close to Oak Park and the Greenline to downtown Chicago. Driveway was sort of tight but that comes with this type of neighborhood. It was nice to have safe, off- street parking. I would stay here again.

Loved this location. Beautiful surroundings. Very considerate hosts. The cottage is located above a garage. For someone who has accessibility problems, you need to be prepared for maneuvering the steps. I must say that Andy was very accommodating by carrying our luggage up and downstairs.

My husband and I are in our 70s and we found that our safety and comfort level was more than satisfactory while staying at this lovely Coachhouse. A real plus was the beautiful neighborhood. Also, our host was responsive within minutes to the couple of questions we had when we first arrived. Our stay was overall a wonderful experience!

Good space.

Beautiful property in lovely part of town. It’s comfortable and just enough space for two. However it needs a good deep cleaning including rugs and baseboards because there is a build-up of dirt, dust and grime. Could also use a fresh coat of paint.

We wanted a central location to visit several local universities. This was the perfect home base for us in a beautiful neighborhood. Bed was comfy. My son slept on the futon and had no complaints. Only issue was he is 6 foot and kept hitting his head at top of stairs for entry into living space, but we got a lot of chuckles out of that. They did provide directions to use mass transit, as well. We just weren't ready to take that leap. I would highly recommend.

Very nice little place in a very nice neighborhood! Intimidatingly nice houses around, lots to look at. ONLY issue is the place is above the owner’s garage, so the garage door opening and closing is a little loud. Not a major issue though! Very nice, would stay again.

My 15 year old and I stayed here for two nights when we came to Chicago for a concert at United Center. I loved having off-street parking right in front of the garage. The kitchen has every appliance you could need for preparing meals and the living room and bedroom were both comfortable. The neighborhood is gorgeous and there's so much to see and do within walking distance. Getting to United Center was quick and easy. We had everything we needed and the rental was clean. There are many options nearby for picking up groceries for or going out to eat. The communications on check-in and check-out were clear and easy to follow. It snowed during our visit (not a problem since street are cleared quickly and it's to be expected in Chicago in February) but we did enjoy just driving around Oak Park when we had spare time and taking in the beautiful homes and historic locations. My son and I agreed we want to come back when it is warmer and we have more time....we plan to stay here again.

A great property. Great location. A bit difficult to find at night. The bathroom mirror, is the best feature at this location. When you look in it, you look at least 10 lbs lighter Only two improvements I would suggest is a way to find it at night and a little more pressure coming out of the showerhead.

I was in the area for a professional conference and greatly appreciated everything about this rental. It’s increasingly rare for everything to work as intended these days, but this stay was perfect: communication was clear and accurate, the lock set to my phone number functioned properly, the QR code in the room promptly got me on the net, and the climate control worked perfectly.

Great location that is only a few minutes walking to multiple Frank Lloyd Wright houses and his studio. The area is extremely beautiful and quiet, multiple great food choices and the green line elevated train are only a few minutes away walking. Great location, great stay.

Thank you so much to these hosts. My family was in town during a very difficult time in our lives. These hosts provided us with a quiet, peaceful, and beautiful place to come back to and decompress. It was a short walk to several parks and other activities, plus the historical house were so neat to look at while we walked around the neighborhood. Bonus tip from the host about a farmers market on Saturdays with some of the best donuts ever!😊 100% will stay here again if we are back to the area.

The Coach House was comfortable, very quiet, with privacy and windows to let light in. . All the necessary amenities were present including WiFi, smart TV, a good quiet air conditioner and an easy to use padlock for downstairs door. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had all the amenities needed. The varied restaurants , parks , Hemingway and Frank Lloyd Wright houses and Green Line train to Chicago were easily accessible by walking through this beautiful residential neighborhood . An Oak Park taxi service had very reasonable fares on local trips as well as to O'Hare Airport . The hosts helped make this experience easy and pleasant by promptly responding to my questions and by their booklet with further information about the house and the surrounding neighborhood.. The hosts are organized and communicate very well. I will definitely recommend this Coach House to relatives and friends. Stan K.
