Stayed Mar 2, 2026It was like living in a oven ceiling fan not working air con doesn’t even cool the room no chance to contact the owner no one spoke English so difficult to explain any problem first night I woke with a room ful of small wasps making a loud buzzing sound I checked out and moved to ISIS hotel never again

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I would say you get what you pay for. The pros and cons are as follows: Pros- It is literally a stones throw from the nearest metro station, which is handy for getting around to other parts of the city. -Only a few roads away from Copacabana Beach. It's not beachside but that's why it's cheaper. -Located at the back of the building, therefore, you are away from the busy main road it is located on. -Reasonable cooking facilities for a small studio apartment (two hobs, a microwave and a fridge freezer, plus a few small appliances). -Friendly, helpful owner who can communicate in English with the help of her son. -Quite well located for shops and restaurants. Cons- The noise. Not being used to living in a Brazilian flat where you can hear your neighbours moving around late into the night, this sometimes was an issue. However, if you're used to that or sleep easily, this won't necessarily be an issue. -Some minor plumbing and electrical work would be beneficial (there is a slight leak from the kitchen tap and you have to push the washing machine against its plug to get power through to it). I would recommend this apartment to anyone looking to stay in Rio on a budget.
