Spartina Place Mermaid Lookout! Carriage House with a View!

This cottage is so nice! Everything is modern, and it has everything you would need for a couple. The sunset is amazing! Pier is lighted and very nice! Owners are very nice and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

This property is exactly as advertised. So clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, colorful sunsets, and walks down the Spanish Moss Trail. If we are ever in the area again, this will be our go to spot for sure.

Everything was perfect

Excellent property. Great location. Located right on the Spanish Moss Trail for biking or walking (with bikes provided!). Great accomodations. Views of the sunset from either the attached 2nd floor deck or the covered deck at the end of the dock. The location was an easy bike ride into Beaufort, slightly longer to get to Port Royal but an easy ride. Would highly recommend.

What a wonderful weekend we had. John was so friendly and helpful. The cottage was adorable, clean and perfect. We didn’t want to leave. We recommend this sweet mermaid cottage to anyone traveling. The view was beautiful and location to Beaufort restaurants and shopping was so fabulous. We will be back again.

The place was immaculate, quaint, super fun. We will be recommending it, and we will be staying again.

Great place, great views, very comfortable. My very minor complaint is that the keyless entry box could be a little brighter to allow guests to be able to read the numbers easier. Again, a very minoir complaint. I'd definitely stat there again, and would recommend the place to friends and family.

The views from this carriage house are spectacular. We watched beautiful sunsets and colorful sunsets. We also saw the most beautiful full moon!

Clean. Love the whole place. Would book the next time I'm in South Carolina.

This was the greatest place we have ever stayed at since we’ve been dealing with VRBO! There isn’t enough space to state all the plus’s because there are no negatives! This was the cleanest and furnished to the “T”! The owners were friendly and cooperative and we couldn’t ask for anything better!Thanks John for all you did to make our stay the best we’ve ever had! Great place.

Wonderful getaway by the water. So peaceful and the Spanish Moss Trail just across the street. Made use of the dock, kayak, and bike. The host was very helpful and the cottage so comfortable, private, and clean. A hidden gem, I will definitely stay here again!

My husband and I had a great time! The Mermaid Cottage was BEAUTIFUL and the perfect get away for us! We definitely will be back.

This was such a beautiful location for a few nights away. You couldn’t beat the sunsets from the balcony or dock. Loved biking on the Spanish Moss Trail. This place is truly a gem. It’s not as “private” as it may seem in the pictures. This is someone’s residency. We never personally saw the owners, but they were home. So we just felt like we were always being “watched” and couldn’t enjoy some of the things in the description of the property. Just wanted to let others know this is a cottage above a garage, at someone’s residency. It’s beautiful and quiet nonetheless and such a sweet little place to getaway too. Beaufort is such a sweet, beautiful town!

We had a wonderful stay. The property was clean, quiet & beautiful. We really enjoyed the proximity to Downtown Beaufort and the pass to Hunting Island State Park Beach. We would absolutely book here again!

Wow! What can I say about this place!? It’s absolutely beautiful! I needed peace and relaxation and I got it. The view out the back porch is breathtaking. I have a convertible and they even have a gorgeous carport I could pull my car out of the weather. They had bikes and kayaks which I didn’t get to use this trip but I’m planning on going back hopefully in the near future. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of staying at The Mermaid Cottage.

The stay at Mermaid Cottage was impeccable from start to finish. Pictures and description are an accurate depiction of the space. It truly is magical. The accommodations are comfortable and well apointed. I plan to stay here again on my next visit!

We love Beaufort and love this place this is our second time, and we will be back again next year. It's close to town and the Spanish Trails and we enjoy the bikes they provide to get around.

Well appointed home/apartment. Beautiful view from deck looking out to the Beaufort river, with old live oaks draped in Spanish moss. Comfortable bed, great walk in shower. Quiet, away from traffic and no noise.

Wonderful long weekend in Beaufort, cottage is in the perfect spot to enjoy downtown and the surrounding sea islands. Cottage super clean and has one of everything you need. Quiet and private, sunset views and dock access make it an extra special place to stay.

Unit was very nice. The furnishings were well appointed. Although we didn’t cook, the kitchen was well stocked. The bed was softer than we like but that’s just a personal preference. Enjoyed a visit from the neighbor’s cat. It was also nice to be able to have the Spanish Moss Trail right across from the unit for a daily walk.

Super nice unit-literally right on the Spanish Moss Trail and the water. Unit provides two bicycles (great for riding the trail down to Port Royal) and kayaks, for paddling around during high tide. Historic down town Beaufort is only a 1.4 mile walk. So much to see and do with minimal travel from the adorable unit!

My husband and I took a few days after a conference that I planned and it was EXACTLY what I needed!! The unit was perfect for a couple needing a little down-time. So cute and convenient, we hope to visit again! We would have loved to do some kayaking had the weather been just a little warmer. We had never been to Beaufort before but I'm kind of in love, it's now on our list of potential retirement locations!

Cozy, clean, cute and charming! Quaint historical community. FYI: bike tires need some air and workable pump.

The property is placed perfectly in regards to the.water, rhe off road (dead end private riad). No one except those who belong there are there

This cottage and the property are gorgeous! The cottage is well equipped with all the necessities. It has a very nice dock over the water with kayaks available as well as fishing available. The sunsets are absolutely spectacular! We also had direct access to the Spanish Moss hiking/bicycling trail and bicycles at our disposal to use. It was an all around beautiful and restful vacation!

We've now stayed here twice, and my wife and I continue to love every minute spent here. The cottage is just perfect for a couple looking for an easy, romantic, carefree location in Beaufort. I was actually looking forward to the shower this year, as i remembered how large it was! The bedding is great for a good night of sleep after days of travel, beach hopping, or kayaking, as we did this year. We will be back again soon!!

We loved our time in Beaufort. Location of the house was great. Owners are very nice and answered all of our needed questions. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We came last year for our honeymoon and brought out little one with. It was nice bringing him back to that place. He also loved the cat! The cat even came to the dock with us our last day and watched us fish for hours. Loved our stay and will definitely be back next year.

Spartina place is exactly what we were looking for. It's a beautiful area. The cottage is immaculate, and beautifully decorated. We loved to sit on the dock each night and watch the tide go in / out, and watch the fighter jets from Parris Island fly over.

We loved the place! Very clean and comfortable. We came to enjoy the Water Festival(our first time), and the Mermaid cottage was so convenient to all the activities! We went to the beach, did lots of fishing, sightseeing and lots of eating at the many restaurants Beaufort has to offer! Enjoyed our stay very much!!
