The kids loved it. Easy entry to property. Very quiet neighborhood. Great bakery nearby. Salzberg is an incredible city.
The apartment was just as described and very spacious, especially for the two of us. The nicest feature was the location with everything you need within walking distance including old town Salzburg. With parking included it worked out great for our one week visit to Salzburg and the surrounding area. Would stay again if visiting Salzburg.
This property was everything which was said on vrbo. Great place to stay in Salzburg. Very clean and equipped.
Really nice, pleasant, very clean apartment with an easy check-in process. The owner was quick to answer our questions. The only issue for us was that it was further from the city center than we understood from the listing.
Very convenient and well kept Impressive entry system
We were very pleased with Ruth’s apartment. It was clean spacious and well located. We had a lovely time thanks to Ruth’s help
The apartment was spacious. The kitchen was well supplied. We cooked in twice. The back deck looks at the Alps. As you walk down the street you also stare at the Alps. There are several ways to get to the apt by bus from the old town. It takes 15+ minutes, including the wait for the bus. The walk to stores is about 10 minutes.
Having done our own property letting in the past we were very shocked to find how tired and dated the property was presented, particularly the bathroom and kitchen. Other issues included other people's washing on clothes airers in the corridor outside the apartment, and the properties balcony overlooking a back garden which was a dumping ground for old broken furniture. On check-in we had an issue which needed to be addressed. This should have been easily resolved but was turned into a much larger problem by the poor attitude of the neighbour acting on behalf of the owner who was absent at the time of our visit. To conclude, in the end all of the problems started to ruin our holiday so after four days we decided to move out.
Our family enjoyed our stay and recommend the location and property. We appreciated having separate rooms and a functional kitchen. Host is a great communicator and provided detailed instructions.
Dr. Ruth's apartment located just outside downtown Salzburg was the best VRBO of our vacation through southern Germany and Austria! She was the most engaged and thorough owner that we have worked with. She gave very good directions to get to the house. There was one little glitch with door entry that was a result of VRBO sending an old email; she has updated entry with electronic locks. So if you get an email from VRBO regarding a lock box, please contact Dr. Ruth for more accurate entry info. But she responded to us immediately and got us in the door quickly! The apartment is well-furnished, comfortable and very clean. She has a binder with lots of information regarding the apartment, who to contact in the case of an emergency (something I've never encountered in other VRBO's and was very appreciated--thankfully not needed), and recommendations about what to see and where to eat in the area. We rented a car, and had easy parking available. But we also like to use public transport in a city, and were a 3 minute walk from the bus stop that was only 3 or 4 stops from the Salzburg city center. It's a wonderful place to stay, and if we make it back to this area, we will definitely see if it's available!
Dr. Ruth's 3 room apartment was exactly as advertised - spacious, clean, perfectly equipped with everything we needed and more. Great beds, full kitchen, spacious sitting room, and a lovely veranda for sunny breakfasts. The neighborhood is very quiet and close to bus lines for easy access to town. Also easy walking if you have time, 20-25 minutes each way. There is a nice desk if you need to work from the apartment and the wifi was good. The dryer didn't seem to warm up and was very slow, but there were drying racks available in the hall, which worked perfectly well. We enjoyed the local wine left for us and cooked all of our breakfasts in the kitchen. Nearby bakery and grocery shop were very handy and the Greek restaurant just down the way called Irodion was both beautiful and delicious. Dr. Ruth generously answered questions throughout and offered us friendly and useful tourist info. We highly recommend this apartment, especially if you're going to stay for more than a night or two. It was lovely to be in a neighborhood rather than a hotel in the midst of all of the tourists. Salzburg is a gorgeous town. Historic, quiet, safe, beautiful. We were surprised by how much fresh vegetarian food was available in restaurants despite the strong meat culture. We also very much enjoyed day trips suggested in the blog called freewalkingtoursalzburg - best day trips from Salzburg. The author doesn't mention that there's a gorgeous glacier you can reach by foot from the first boat stop up Kingslake. Just follow the 1.5 hour hike signs and go to the Ice chapel.
