Stayed Sep 14, 2025Absolutely what I had hoped for. While the listing says “Historic Downtown Durango” the property is tucked into the gorgeous foothills outside of town, so don’t be fooled by that. The room is spacious, the owner gracious, and the location gorgeous. I will absolutely stay here again.

Stayed Sep 18, 2025We really enjoyed our stay and Alison is a great host. However, there was a glitch in our reservation process. The Vrbo map feature indicated that this was a downtown location when it is not. This listing is a few miles outside of town and you will need a car or to book ride shares ahead of time to get there.

Stayed Jun 11, 2025Clean, quiet, budget accommodations in a rural setting. BE AWARE that the map location for this property (as of mid-June 2025) is totally inaccurate. It is out a county road 5 miles from where the map shows (shows at roughly 10th St and 5th ave). Not a problem as long as you're not counting on this being walkable to shops, restaurants, etc. Hopefully this location inaccuracy will be fixed because some people may be very disappointed. Other than that, it was as expected for a budget stay.

Unit was in an attic, insufficient parking, ridiculous cost to park in town, train broke down which caused a lesser time to visit Silverton. It was our 31 anniversary and wife and I just will remember how bad it was that we will it with laughter not enjoyment.

Stayed Aug 12, 2024I loved that the cabin was off the highway hidden & very peaceful. My highlight was actually seeing a black bear 40 yards away from the cabin eating. I was so excited & I am planning to return on another vacation. The host was very accommodating too. ?

Stayed Aug 6, 2024Loved staying out a bit, nature and wildlife was perfect. Clean, cozy with an outside sitting space looking out to nature. We saw deer and an actual bear. Comfortable bed, air conditioner and a fan available. Tea and coffee available, fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave. Cozy space up a small flight of stairs. Recommend!

Stayed Jun 20, 2024Loved our stay! If you are looking for something close to Durango but secluded enough to feel like you are surrounded by woods, this is the place. It is a cozy studio with everything you need. The views were amazing! The host was responsive, and we really appreciated the ease of our stay. Checking out involved a quick wash of the dishes we used. It was nice not to have a ridiculous list of chores to do before heading home. Highly recommend.
