Love the neighborhood, very walkable to everything. A huge amount of restaurants, coffee, mini markets, right there. Try a poncha!

Very difficult to fault this apartment in the beautiful Old town of Funchal. Great views, lovely hospitable host and so close to everything, whilst not being in it! Highly recommend.

This apartment is very well located and equipped, and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The owners have installed good windows which keep out sound, and blackout curtains to keep out the light if you need to sleep. However, you can also have a lovely breeze going through with the windows on both sides of the apt. when open. The terrace is a wonderful bonus, looking out to the sea. We also enjoyed the mountain views from the bedrooms, which change daily. The thoughtful welcome treats and extras were much appreciated. We hope to return.

Location very central in the old town. View from the balcony phantastic. Owner very friendly und support all the time. Unfortunately the location in the Santa Maria street (old town) is quite noisy- motorbikes all the night on one side and restaurant on the other side. If you are sensitive regarding noise it‘s not recommendable, if noise is not a problem for you the appartment is great, promenade, restaurants, cable car, etc. in short walking distance.

Apartment is at the quiet end of old town. It has a street and apartment entrance with a flight of stairs to second level. Quiet neighbors as well with a lovely deck overlooking an old fort/ restaurant and the sea facing south so lots of sun all day. Kitchen and apartment are spotless, bathroom has a double shower heads and a very comfortable bed. The deck has dining table with 4 chairs, swing chair and two loungers, we lived out there every night! Host provided lanterns with candles, tea lights, blankets and a cozy outdoor rug to stargaze or yoga! There are many restaurants right around the corner one that will serenade you with instrumental music… How perfect. Huge bowl of fruit, avacodo sand a beautiful bouquet of flowers were left for us, she made our stay very special. It really was very homey and we looked forward to returning each evening. She even has grocery cart on wheels for the market or your shopping. The thoughtful host did not miss any details. It was a fabulous experience and one of the best after traveling for 3 months through Spain and Portugal. Madeira wins!!

This place was minutes away from all the good restaurants in Old Town. It was spotlessly clean and had great views out to the sea. Lina, our host met us at the apartment and explained everything to us and recommended certain restaurants. We will hopefully return.
