What a magical piece of paradise! We had the pleasure of staying for seven days in this extraordinary home. Aside from the long history and original character of the home, Maribel has done an incredible job of designing a one of a kind architectural masterpiece. The property, the details, the niches and nooks...all inviting you to be present and Injoy the moment. Yummy breakfast, delicious coffee, gracious hosts and Maribels warm smile had us already planning next years visit! A true home away from home! Mahalo from the bottom of our hearts!

We spent 3 days at Scarritt house and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house itself is a beautiful example of traditional southwestern building and at the same time furnished in an eclectic, inventive style that no doubt reflects its owners. The veranda and expansive, landscaped grounds were relaxing places to stroll, sit and read, or just gaze at the diversity of cacti and occasional wildlife. The hosts, Maribel and John, really made this a memorable stay. They provided advice on dining and sightseeing options, a tasty breakfast each morning, and truely made us feel like guests in their home, not just customers. We will definitely return if staying in Tucson area.

This is the second time I've stayed at Scarritt House and I loved it as much or more than before. Maribel and John are the perfect hosts. I almost hate praising too much because it's filling up when I want to come. Lovely property and even lovelier people. Thank you Maribel.

This was the best B&B experience I've ever had so far. The hosts, Maribel and John were so hospitable and kind, with their two sweet dogs and cat. Every detail was attended to, with a lovely sit down breakfast every morning on gorgeous formal settings. We felt like we were staying with family. The property alone is worthwhile to see, nestled in a suburban area like a hidden gem. Walking or jogging on the 3.88 acre property and surrounding neighborhood was excellent. Or, one can simply chill in the many nooks and crannies of the long porch, winding pathways in the landscape, or meditation garden. The rooms were well-furnished, very clean, and beautiful. Two of the rooms share a bathroom, and the smaller room has its own bathroom. Again, all of the rooms are beautiful, and there are no tvs in the room, which encourages tranquility. Maribel set out lovely aromatherapy on our arrival, and relaxing music plays throughout the home. This place is great for groups of friends, couples or families. You just have to figure out the bathroom/bedroom arrangement when you decide how you want to rent the rooms. The owners stayed in the house at the same time we did. They have 2 other properties on the estate, which can be rented. If you want a cookie-cutter experience, stay at a hotel or resort for the same expense. But if you want to have a unique experience, the Scarritt House is worth every penny. It is only about 20-25 minutes from downtown Tucson, and 30 minutes from the airport.

My wife and I booked a 9 day stay at Scarritt House so we could enjoy world class bird watching, golf, hiking and more in South East Arizona. Due to weather, our flight was late getting to to Tucson, but our host Maribel was waiting for us when we arrived with hot towels and tea. After a good night's sleep, we awoke and had one of many fine breakfasts, that fueled us up for the day's adventures. Maribel has a great coffee maker which I learned to operate since I am an early riser, so I could get my coffee fix. Our bedroom was very comfortable with a nice bed. The house sits on about 3.5 acres which are nicely landscaped and teeming with birds and other interesting wild life. After a day of vigorous activities, it was relaxing to come back home and enjoy a cocktail outside. There are a number of restaurants nearby ranging from casual, to fine dining. If you want pick up some wine, sandwiches or salads, there is a Trader Joes minutes a way. Maribel was a very delightful and charming host. We also enjoyed the company of other guests who came down from Canada to bike Tucson's many trails and highways. Whether you book a long weekend, or an extended stay, you will enjoy Scarritt House.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Scarritt House. The grounds are beautiful and provide a desert setting within the city. The house is unique blending several cultures and Maribel was a gracious and accommodating hostess. Highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
