OUTSTANDING FEATURES :: Originally built as a boarding house in 1925, Hera House has the ambiance of a European B&B. This upstairs 2-room suite (bedroom & sitting room/workstation) has a private entry and is one block from popular Lower Greenville Avenue. Especially recommended for guests who want a peaceful sanctuary with many walkable amenities. LGBT friendly.

STYLE :: Hera House is a hybrid of vintage and modern styling with a touch of designer funk.

2-ROOM SUITE ::Bedroom has a brand new solid mahogany queen-size platform bed with new foam mattress and low-allergen pillows (no down feathers, no synthetics). Living room/work station has comfy chairs, table, desk. Both rooms are sunlit and have plentiful windows that open. Private bath. Small fridge, microwave, coffee pot, electric kettle and WiFi.

ALLERGY-FREE AMENITIES :: This house is great for people with allergies: wood floors, low VOC paint, scent-free cleaning products, 100% cotton linens, no pets.

Hera House is a house that breathes: rooms open off a main stairway with a ceiling fan. No central air, no dust-catching air ducts. Each room has its own A.C. (so you control the temperature).

We make a sincere effort to maintain a dust-free space, so same-day reservations aren't always possible. Of course, if this amenity isn't important to you, we will always consider requests for last-minute reservations.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS :: We live downstairs in an area that is entirely separate from the guest quarters. Since we often work from home, we are accessible in person as well as by phone. If you need ideas for where to go or what to do in Dallas, we can help. We'd like you to feel that, if you need it, you have a friend in Dallas.

GUEST ACCESS :: Upstairs is your dedicated space and you have your own door with electronic keypad lock.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD :: Hera House is located on a quiet side street within 1.5 blocks’ access of the popular urban Dallas community known as Lower Greenville Avenue: cafés, coffee shop, restaurants, diner, bars, Trader Joe’s, yoga studios and public transit. Vegetarian, Vegan and Paleo options are within a 2-block walk.

Hera House is centrally located, 2.5 miles from downtown and minutes away from freeways & public transit headed in all directions. Southern Methodist University is 3.4 miles away.

GETTING AROUND :: Public transit is less than a block away and it will bring you to our light rail mass transit, DART – which is less than one mile away. DART will deliver you to extensive areas of the city, including DFW airport. The neighborhood is very walkable. Two and a half miles to the east is our town lake, White Rock Lake, which has eleven miles of bike and walk paths . Also nearby is Katy Trail, a 3.5 mile long walking trail.

ABOUT PARKING :: Parking on the street is usually open during the day, but gets competitive in the evenings and on weekends. It's a Resident Only Parking district Wednesday thru Saturday, so a parking tag is needed. We keep one on hand for guests that we will loan to you while you're staying with us.

HOUSE RULES :: To maintain our mellow atmosphere, we'd like to ask that you refrain from: smoking / bringing pets / having parties / burning candles or incense/moving furniture/tap dancing

Because Hera House is an environment suitable for people with allergies, we request that you not use aerosol sprays or strongly scented products. (We might use a few drops of essential oil as an air freshener unless you ask us not to).

SIDELINE OPTIONS :: Ask about some of the sideline options for entertainment and self-care that we can arrange for you right here at Hera House.

AVAILABILITY :: On Fridays and Saturdays the minimum stay is 2 nights.

Our host was incredibly wonderful, communicative, and had a lovely home. The location was not only superb, but the home itself was fun and had so much charm. It was a perfect getaway weekend - we definitely recommend this spot for your next stay!

Hera House was lovely! A very comfortable space. You go through the front door to the house and there are closed doors to your left and right - that’s where the owner of the property lives but having these closed doors effectively creates the feeling of a private entrance - you head up the stairs to where your bedroom and bathroom are. Very comfortable bed, AC unit in room, sink in room, a coffee maker and a fridge with bottled waters in the hallway. Dia was a great host, very communicative and helpful. The location is fantastic as well. Right in the heart of lowest Greenville, you’ll be able to find a lot to do just walking around. 5/5 would stay at Hera House again.

Great place to stay! It was great to stay in a place that cared about allergens and the environment. I loved the simplicity of the rooms. The house is a very short walk to many lower Greenville establishments. Dia was very communicative and friendly. I will definitely stay here again when in Dallas!

Dia was a fabulous host who greeted me in person even though my arrival time was late at night. I loved getting to know her and felt very comfortable and at-ease throughout my stay. I will be returning to this special spot nestled in a bustling, cute neighborhood.

Dia was a wonderful host. It was warm in Dallas while we were there, & the A/C unit kept us cool & comfy. The water & Coke Zero were a nice bonus. We had the upstairs to ourselves. Thanks for your hospitality Dia.

I am sick of staying in generic hotels. The Hera House was built in the 1920s and the owner (who lives downstairs with a separate entrance) is a 3rd generation owner! We enjoyed the entire upstairs, a master and a smaller sitting room. All hardwood floors, huge trees, unbelievable convenience to the best bars, restaurants, walking, and yoga. There is only a mini fridge and microwave but who wants to cook with so many restaurants at hand? Wi-fi included.
