This restored historic apartment is close to Jerome, Old Town Cottonwood, Sedona. It's great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Our one bedroom apartments are very similar in size and amenities. We endeavor to provide you with the specific unit you inquired about if at all possible, but we can promise that you will not feel disappointed.

Second floor full suite with kitchen, living area, and separate bedroom. King bed. Tiled shower, no tub. The bedroom, though comfortable and nicely appointed, has no windows, and is great for late sleepers. The bathroom is roomy and bright, with some Sedona views. Can accommodate up to 2 people.

THE SPACE

The Clarkdale Lodge is an historic building that was built in 1914 and originally used as a boarding house for unmarried employees of the local copper smelter. It was subsequently converted into apartments which we are now modernizing to a high standard while preserving historic details where possible. All apartments are tastefully furnished and have HDTV's in both sitting and bedrooms. High speed Internet access is provided throughout via WiFi, and kitchens are fully equipped and ready to use.
The deck you see in the photos is a large shared area accessed from the upstairs hall. It has gorgeous views and makes a perfect place to sit and have a glass of wine in the early evenings. There is a shaded patio area underneath it on the ground floor for when the weather is too warm to sit in the sun.

GUEST ACCESS

In addition to the apartment you are staying in, all guests have access to a public sitting area upstairs stocked with books and games, and a second story view deck overlooking the Verde Valley.

NEIGHBORHOOD

Only a 10 minute drive to historic (and happening) towns of Jerome, Old Town Cottonwood, and red rocks of Sedona, Clarkdale itself offers the Verde Canyon Railroad, river rafting, wine tasting, restaurants, neighborhood bars, a bakery/cafe, and museums!

The open metal stairs were a challenge for our fearful dog. The property itself was comfortable, clean and in good condition. We wanted help in getting the oven to work and did not get a resoonse to our phone call.

First we were moved to room 205 due to a scheduling glitch which is understandable. I really liked the the rear deck accessible to all which over looked a valley where there was an old mine and incredible views. I also liked the the roominess of the apartment and having a fully stocked kitchen. The feel of the place is nostalgic. Will definitely book again if my adventures travels take me to the camp verde/cottonwood area.

Cozy room and nice extras (books, creamer, etc). Tvs were a little finicky. I’d stay here again.

I was really thankful and impressed to the manager, Daniel. I left my two jackets in the closet so I called and asked if she can send them to me. She found them and mailed me them without charging to me very kindly. Thank you so much, Daniel! Maria

The lodge was in a great location. Very cute. Great hot shower with plenty of pressure. Bed was a little uncomfortable because it’s so bouncy. The only real complaint was that we had to move the bed to plug in my husband’s sleep machine and it was so dirty. Even had a pill someone had dropped then we moved the dresser and the same thing large dust bunnies. Also it’s a 50 dollar cleaning charge and then it’s an envelope for a tip for housekeeping too. We always leave a place clean and trash taken out, towels in a pile.

Being new to vrbo it worked well. We did not know (should have I guess) that it involved a flight of stairs. We managed, my husband uses a cane, but perhaps that should be noted. All in all, it was a fun experience. We loved the bedding and satellite tv.

We had a great time at the site. One thing: The window curtain brackets are coming off the wall, so we had trouble shutting the shades. Just an FYI so maintenance can be done. Thx for the stay. We'll be back.

This was a nice mini appartment that was close to Cottonwood but far enough away to be cozy and affordable. It is easy to navigate from there to the wineries and other attractions and at the end of the day has a nice brewery nearby. The room is comfortable and had many comforts. Clean and attractive.

Cute, small place perfect for 1 to 2 people. Had everything we needed, even extra towels. Great location, walking distance from the town. The only downside was that it took a few minutes to get hot water in the shower. Overall, great place to stay!
