It truely is a paradise. The hot tub and waterful are beautiful and so relaxing. The coqui frogs and birds really add to the vacation. The host has thought of everything that you might need to enjoy your stay. Highly recommend staying here.

We liked the stay so much last time (21') that we hunted down the property for our visit this year. The layout is really nice for two and has everything you'll need. Hosts are great as well, very friendly / approachable. Final notes: LOVE the outdoor stove for cooking and the hot tub is a treat after a long day of exploring the island.

This is our second time staying at this lovely property. We came over from Kona side for World Sprints time trials for outrigger canoe and it’s the perfect spot for resting and relaxing after a long day of paddling. So cozy and peaceful. The hosts are so gracious, the accommodations well thought out and the hot tub is the icing on the cake. This is now our go-to spot when staying over this side. Looking forward to our next visit. Gregory & Dana have created such a unique and beautiful space. We were able to disconnect during our stay just as we wanted. Everything was working as described. The indoor and outdoor kitchen were completely equipped and when we couldn't find something they got back to us very quickly. Thanks Gregory & Dana!

This is a thoughtfully and tastefully designed private apartment situated in one of Hilo's most beautiful and exclusive areas. The Kaumana forest is about 15 easy minutes from downtown Hilo and offers a cool and relaxed setting. The amenities are excellent, featuring a professional quality grill, first class Jacuzzi tub and two well-equipped kitchen areas, indoors and out. The waterfall provides a calming backdrop to a Zen-like retreat, and the outdoor shower is an added delight. Access to the Saddle Road is easy if you want to see the mountains or drive to Kona for the beaches. The hosts are very gracious and available for any questions. This ohana style guest house is highly recommended!

I’m not even sure where to start. The apartment was spectacular. The outdoor kitchen was amazing and very well equipped. There was an indoor and outdoor shower. The outdoor shower is perfect for washing off the salt from the beautiful Hilo beaches before jumping into a hot bubbling Jacuzzi. We were met by Gregory when we arrived who showed us how to use the lighting, fans, hot tub etc. Greg, Dana and Mom Claudette were lovely and Simon the Cat welcomed us often when we arrived from exploring. Great location with easy access to Hilo, Volcano National Park, beaches and waterfalls. Hilo is full of cute shops and restaurants but is away from the crowds of the Kona Coast. I would totally recommend this home for your travels and hope to come back here on our next trip to the Big Island!

Welcome to Rivendell! What a wonderful and perfect greeting you gave us upon our arrival. I was difficult to leave such a beautiful oasis. We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay - - listening to the waterfall and birds,, relaxing in the hot tub, and experiencing the peace and tranquility. Thank you for all you did to make our stay so comfortable. You both have created such a lovely place to get away. We always looked forward to returning each evening to relax. This place was fantastic! The balance of indoor/ outdoor living was perfect! The spa and waterfall were a dream! Gregory and Dana were perfect hosts - responsive and they provided many great recommendations for activities and dining. Every need was anticipated. The bed was very comfortable. We cannot imagine a more perfect stay!!

This property is very cool. We were in love with the outdoor kitchen and the beautiful grounds of the property. It is an Ohana suite on the owners home but they were very courteous of our privacy and we barely knew they were there. The induction stovetop required me to read the instruction manual (provided). The outdoor shower was a surprise favorite of ours. The hot tub was inoperable for our stay and I believe that it went out the night before we arrived. The owners informed us when we arrived and tried to fix it while we were there but they did not have luck so we were unable to use the hot tub - which was the main reason we booked this property. We understand that these things happen but it was a disappointment to say the least. Aside from that little hiccup, we loved the quiet and gorgeous neighborhood , the frog songs at night and the tranquility of the location.

Rivendell Oasis is just that! A quiet, quaint oasis that makes for the perfect getaway. Nestled in a nice neighborhood close to Hilo town, Rivendell Oasis is a great location for all your Hilo side activities and adventures. Great communication with the hosts leading up to and during our stay. Check in and out was a breeze and we very much enjoyed the top of the line hot tub. We will definitely be back!

My high school daughter and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our 4 nights near Hilo - truly! Gregory and Dana were wonderful hosts who went above and beyond in so many ways! We were welcome to reach out at any time if we needed anything or had questions about the area. Our place was serene and they were extremely kind and considerate of our privacy (you hardly knew they were upstairs). In addition, the care, details, amenities, and cleanliness that went into the property both inside and out was impeccable. It was a joy to wake up there each morning and a wonderful place to come back to after a day out exploring. It truly is a gem away from the resorts and cities. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it to my family and friends!
