Venezia, Veneto
Big and beautiful apartment in Venetian style with old beams and a wonderful wooden floor. The apartment can accommodate up to 8 people in 3 different bedrooms and a sofa bed but it's perfect for 6.
The apartment is located in a historical palace built in the XVII century, facing the canal. Gondolas pass trough showing one of the most characteristic areas habited by Venetians. It also faces S.Giacomo dell' Orio church which is one of the most ancient Romanic churches.
The entrance brings you in a private courtyard and to an old stairway with bricks on walls.
The apartment can accommodate up to 8 people but is perfect for 6 people.
It has two double rooms with a king double bed and one room with twin beds for children.
The main room has a beautiful window with an arc looking at the courtyard. The second king-size bedroom looks on the canal.
A nice kitchen well equipped is placed in the dining room.
You will also find a high-speed internet connection, TV, microwave oven, fridge, stove, coffee machine, kettle, and dishwasher.
The apartment has been sanitized following national and regional prescriptions for accommodations.
This apartment is perfectly located and exactly as shown in the photos. It's not fancy, but it lacks for nothing. We visited in August, and as busy as much of the city was, it was a joy to return to the lovely nearby square that had everything any traveler might need: a well-stocked grocery store; a gelateria; pastry shop; several restaurants; a bar; and a beautiful church. It is only about a 10-minute walk from the main train station, and there's a vaporetto station, where Alilaguna boats to the airport also stop, a very short walk away, which was a bonus and extremely convenient. The apartment is on the second floor and the master bedroom overlooks a small canal. It was magical to brew coffee in the well-stocked kitchen and sit and watch the work boats travel by quietly in the mornings. In the afternoons and evenings, gondoliers glide by. Truly a special view that I will never forget. The air conditioning worked well in each of the 3 bedrooms. And the twin beds, while designed for children, fit our two teenage boys without a problem. If you require use of the futon sofa in the master bedroom, discuss it in advance with the host so that bedding is available. We loved every minute. Grazie mille!
Frederico was completely wonderful as a host, promptly responding whenever I had a question, offering information about restaurants, getting into the city and more. His team who handed off keys and set us up in the apartment were also prompt and helpful. We had a wonderful time. You can walk everywhere from the apartment, but was tucked away in a quiet area.
I will definitely rent this property again. It was wonderful.
Stayed here with our 6 kids and had a wonderful time. You are right on a canal and by the town square. We had a great time, plenty of space, air-conditioning in the bedrooms, and the price couldn't be beat. It's a bit of a haul to get to San Marco's square, but it's a quiet pocket with all the conveniences nearby. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed the stay at the VRBO in Venice. It would have been nice to have a freezer to make ice. Location was good,
This apartment was located in a charming spot, next to a beautiful little foot bridge, overlooking a courtyard one one side and a canal on the other. It has 3 bedrooms, and there is room for additional sleeping on a futon (not 10 bedrooms as stated). A little odd layout of the apartment due to being formed in a very old building. Plenty of space and everything we needed for our family of 4 (could have fit a slightly larger family comfortably). There were a few very elegant things, such as the window overlooking the courtyard (although the courtyard contained a huge pile of bags of gravel during our stay; looked like they were moving them as we left) and the window overlooking the canal, and a few lovely artworks. The furniture was basic. The beds were very comfortable and A/C worked. Kitchen had all the necessities for our limited needs. Hilariously, there was an American coffee maker, but no filters in the apartment or at the nearby grocery :). We used the Italian coffee maker, and Freddie gave me a nice lesson so that I had no trouble. The apartment was secure, and I felt safe sleeping there and leaving my things when we were out. We enjoyed staying in this less touristy area of Venice. Venice is easily walkable, and we learned to use the Vaporetti. There are at least 4 really good restaurants very close to this aparment, as well as a grocery store. It was fun to walk to the pescheria one morning, and buy fruit from the vendors there (so delicious). It is an easy walk to the train station. Freddie helped us to arrange transportation from the airport in a private boat, which was reasonably priced and extremely helpful, dropping us off right near the apartment. Slightly longer but very doable walk, around 10 minutes, to San Marco Square and big tourist sites. There are several smaller, very cool museums closer to this apartment in Santa Croce. Drosuduro is walkable too. We absolutely loved Venice, and were pleased with our 3 night stay at this apartment. We were not quite ready to leave! I would stay here again.
We loved the location of the property and the beautiful canal views. The 3 bedrooms were perfect and we liked that one of them had 2 small beds so that my teens didn’t have to sleep together in a bed . Everything worked perfectly. We were sad because of our flight delays we missed an entire day but other than that our stay was perfect ! There are many restaurants nearby that were delicious and a fantastic gelato place around the corner that my kids were obsessed with
Host met us at train station and helped us find the location. Nice area in Santa Croce neighborhood that was convenient but not in the chaos on the grand canal. Plenty of room and ac in each bedroom! The beds were quite uncomfortable but still loved our stay.
Very nice property and Cristina gave us a great overview of the city, places to visit, and restaurants. The location was very central to the points of interest and fairly easy to find with GPS. We spent 13 days traveling across Italy and Venice was our favorite.
Having visited Venice many times before, this experience felt like a welcome home. From the welcome by Cristina to the comfortable and well equipped apartment everything was fantastic. We arrived early and were made to feel at ease not a nuisance. As we explored Venice we felt that the apartment was ours to come home to whenever we wanted to. Thank you to Cristina for making our stay so relaxed.
