Stayed Oct 10, 2024We arrived and were hit by a very strong smell of mold and mildew. The place seemed fine other than the smell so we stayed because. First time VRBO user so we didn’t know our rights and we were too tired from our drive to deal with it. Lesson learned. In the light of day, when we woke up the next morning, we saw that we had slept on sheets that someone had had adult relations on! They had never been changed. The host tried to say I should have seen the stains the night before and notified them. However, we used the lamps so the room was very dark and the stains were not seen until day time. Also, we did notify them about how cold it was that first night before we went to bed because we could not find the thermostat and they did not reply so who’s to say if they even would have responded if I had noticed the sheets that night? The unit had not been properly cleaned. Period. The floor was filthy. We killed a small roach near the coffee bar. The owner sent a housekeeper who said the smell was from the neighbors dogs but there is water damage on the wall in the master bedroom. The second bedroom has an unfinished section where there is no paint and just raw wallboard compound. After the housekeeper cleaned, we did stay but we would never stay there again.
