Pornichet - Duplex in the residence Ker Juliette (wooded site) 100m from the sea

We had an amazing time in Pornichet with a lovely flat for the evenings. Thanks for a great organization.

We had a very late checking and early departure, but the owner made this very easy with good communications and key safe. The nearby beach is great and very clean. The are a few places to eat nearby, but you'll gave to go into La Baule and further afield for any thing gastronomic. I'd mention 2 things that didn't ruin or holiday, but would like to have known sooner. There is no wifi in the flat, though there is a limited service in the hotel area. While the building has air conditioning, the flat does not, but if you open the small window in the main bedroom before about 11pm it will drone constantly. That said we were there in 24-32C and the heat wasn't an issue (for a family of redheads). The kitchen was well equipped generally (apart from a good sharp knife), with induction hobs, a microwave and a good fridge. We'd recommend the area as family friendly, if not particularly gourmet.

I had no idea what to expect when I was booking an apartment with no reviews on homeaway (abritel) for the first time, but my entire experience (the communication with the owner, the stay, the apartment, the location, Pornichet, the beaches, the cost) was beyond what I could wish for. The owner made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The apartment was just as described, really comfortable, clean and had in my opinion the best view in comparison with other residences in the complex, as the balcony overlooked the forest and was on the 2nd floor. Also the apartment and the kitchen had every single amenity a holiday maker at the sea could wish, so we felt as if we were in our own house. The ocean was not very warm at the beginning of the stay (though still everyone enjoyed it), so having the heated (and clean pool) was great. The free wifi in the vicinity of the pool was another added bonus. The beach was a short walk away, and it was a pleasant walk through a nice little forest and two great children's playgrounds on the way. There were several good restaurants in the vicinity, La Marina, Potion, with delicious specialties and also a bakery with fresh croissants and bread only a block away. If you prefer quiet vacations with not too many tourists I would totally recommend Pornichet over La Baulle. There is plenty of parking space near the house were the apartment is located all inside the Ker Juliette residence area. If you are without a car, there is a free bus circling in Pornichet and the neighboring areas, and the stop is some 50 steps away from the Ker Juliette residence entrance. It is also extremely easy to reach the city of St Nazaire which offers really nice shopping via public buses. So I will whole heartedly recommend this to other travelers, and if we come to the area next year, we will definitely want to stay here again.
