Summary:

The Pickle Factory is tucked away at the corner of Tobacco and Electric Alley, less than an 8-minute drive from downtown Cincinnati, 5-minute drive from the Newport Aquarium, and a 3-minute walk away from the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. It's conveniently located within walking distance of local eateries, live music, coffee shops, breweries and bars, a food market, many local shops. The history of this building has been uniquely woven into every detail of the design ofeach room.

The Space:

Pop, fizz, clink! In the mid-1800s, this building housed the Covington Bottling Works, a soda pop factory (then called mineral water). Inspired by that history, we created a room completely devoted to that sweet soda life. From the color of the walls to the round penny tile and bubble chandelier, this room is filled with lighthearted fun and sugar-soaked energy.

One bedroom with queen bed, full bathroom, large window with natural light, living area with TV, kitchenette with electric stovetop, mini-fridge, and microwave.

Guest Access:

Guest will receive door codes to the building and their rooms via email after booking and signing our terms and agreement policy. Access to the apartment is limited only to registered guests. Any visitors must be approved by the host and may not stay overnight.

We require all guests to sign our rental agreement and provide photo ID via the digital form before check-in instructions will be sent. Check-in info is sent 5 days prior to check-in, assuming completion of the rental agreement.

The Neighborhood:

Covington, KY is a historic city, founded in 1815, full of stunning architecture, rich history, and people who treasure it enough to bring it back to life. In recent years, Covington has seen a rise in trendy eateries, local artists, and growing businesses. It has a city feel and opportunities within a small town size and comfort.

Getting Around:

Most things are in walking. If driving there is street parking or garage parking at the Midtown Parking Garage, also known as the 5th Street Parking, walk down Electric Alley until you see the building on the left-hand side.

Other Things to Note:

We require all guests to sign our rental agreement and provide photo ID via the digital form before check-in instructions will be sent. Check-in info is sent 5 days prior to check-in, assuming completion of the rental agreement.

Nice hosts, clean room but we had a few maintenance issues, eg. elevator not working when we arrived and air conditioning breaking down in one room. Also, although beds were very comfortable (important to us!) the seating in the rooms was not. We submitted suggestions to property owners about a few improvements that would make the property a better stay. Hopefully they will act on them.

The Soda Pop Room is the perfect little fun suite at The Pickle Factory. The decor (right down to the books) were absolutely perfect! We went to a Reds game and it was a very pretty, easy, and convenient walk to the baseball field. The suite is very clean and well maintained. Several restaurants are within walking distance. We will definitely stay again if in the area! You can’t go wrong with this room!

We had a fantastic stay in the Soda Pop room at the Pickle Factory. What a bright and cheery place! My husband and I were attending a wedding in Covington and wanted to make a weekend of it. This was a great location for walking, not only to the reception venue, but restaurants, bars, breweries and local attractions. The building is updated but full of historic charm. Oktoberfest was going on which was a happy coincidence. This would be a great place for visiting sports fans, too. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchenette had everything we needed for making coffee in the morning and storing some snacks and leftovers. Plenty of space for our stuff in the bathroom. Everything was super clean. Parking was just a few steps from the front door. We would totally stay here again. My tiny suggestions/things to be aware of. The building is at one end of a dark alley. Better street lights would make things more comfortable. Unless the city installs some, be sure you approach from the closer end when returning at night. There are just 2 little wooden knobs for hanging towels in the bathroom and one of them was loose. A towel bar might be better for the ample supply of fluffy towels.
