Ocean Front Apartment in Isla Verde neighborhood.

Overall a great experience... with the apartment, with the host, with the food, the coffee(!), the sights and the weather! We travelled to John's place in late January and the weather turned out to be perfect all week!The apartment was exactly as described. Clean and well-equipped. The beds were super comfortable. The location is great and central. Ubers arrived in 5 minutes or less!Local restaurants and grocery stores provided excellent food and convenient (on foot) access to provisions.The area is, for the most part, quiet... and very safe. We felt completely at ease walking out for a drink, even late at night.John is an excellent host - friendly and very communicative. He is easily accessible as he lives in another apartment in the small, 4-apartment building.Overall an excellent experience! Thank you John!A quick note:There is a public bench located across the road near the beach, that seems to be a social hangout at night. During our stay (one week), there were people out there talking very loudly almost every night - and at all hours - so we couldn't sleep with the windows open in the Master Bedroom (which was such a shame with the ocean right there!), and needed to use white-noise apps to not be disturbed in the night. This isn't something the owner can control, but it is worth mentioning in case there is something that can be done to move that bench somewhere else!Overall though, a perfect stay with a perfect host!

It is 5 star!! The host was very accommodating, we arrived late and he waited for us to get there… he gave great advice on places to go… the back yard was its own tropical paradise with some great views of the ocean . The house was roomy and comfortable… sitting on the Maranda drinking coffee in the mornings listening to the waves was great!

Second time staying here, it was great once again!

Family vacation with my nephews.

Right on the beach with an amazing view. The mist from the waves breaking on the sea wall makes it to the door when it's high tide. There's a swimming area protected from the waves about 100 yards away. Just far enough to where you don't have to deal with the people coming into the yard. There are a bunch of restaurants within walking distance including a couple right at the start of the driveway. Easy driveway to get in and out of, plenty of room to park. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked great. Owners were very friendly and gave a lot of helpful recommendations.

Convenient location. Quick walk to beach. Across street from water, with view from porch/deck/master bedroom. Loved hearing ocean at night from master bedroom. Close to some yummy food trucks, restaurants/coffee shop, groceries, convenience store. Spacious & clean. Host responsive to a few minor issues & provided helpful information @ area (food/activities, etc).

John hosts an incredible apartment with a gorgeous view of the ocean, coconut palm trees, a beautiful patio, and comfortable air conditioned rooms! The apartment is gated and has walls, with an access gate he will code for you, which made it feel very safe to have our kids walking around. We recommend the Puebla supermarket for affordable groceries, Bistro Cafe for amazing breakfast (large portions), Piñones Beach for kids, and Carolina beach as well. John provides beach items which really enhance your time in the water. Thank you, John, for an amazing stay!

This is our third time staying at John’s place in Isla Verde. Location is everything. It’s convenient to many restaurants, a grocery store and bakery. Being able to open the door and stare at the beautiful water and have the ocean breeze blow through the house is one of the things I particularly love about this place. The cove beach is a 1 minute walk and is a popular spot for the locals. The rocks provide great protection on windy days and when the surf can be a bit rough on the other surrounding beaches. I took out the masks/snorkel and was surprised to see 5 different species of tropical fish. The house is on backup solar power, so we were not inconvenienced with the recent island wide power outage. The ac units don’t work on the backup power, but it wasn’t terribly hot during our visit so it wasn’t a big deal. The backup power only lasts so long, so the fans and outlets stopped working at 4ish in the morning, but everything powered back up around 9:00 in the morning. As mentioned the locals do like to hang out across the street and it can get a little fragrant at times with medical being legal in PR. The skate park next door has great graffiti and the botanical gardens next to it is great for a nice stroll. The house is stoked with basic amenities.

This apartment was lovely. It is so close to the water, you can feel the ocean spray from the porch. Local access to a neaby beach was very convenient and there are quite a few of food establishments in walking distance.

The location was perfect overlooking the ocean. There are many places to eat close by. The host and his family were so nice and helpful. It was clean and super comfortable.

Loved the deck area and proximity to the beach! John was a very responsive and helpful host. Location is great - minutes from the airport and short uber ride to Old San Juan.

Great location , place and host.

This apartment is excellent in so many ways. It’s spacious—two adults and three kids fit in here well. The two bathrooms were key. In unit laundry is an amazing asset and it’s a bonus that there’s a second set of machines in the common space. The location’s proximity to the beach is unparalleled it’s so easy to just pop over to the cove without worrying about parking or Ubers. The compound is super safe, gated etc. It’s a major bonus that there are solar panels so when the electricity goes out this place still has use if everything except AC. Power goes out a lot in Puerto Rico so it’s very key to have solar. The internet was very strong. We were working while there on zoom calls while our kids were on tablets playing games. Internet could support all if it. The place also comes with everything you need. Beach stuff—chairs coolers towels snorkels sand toys. Kitchen is fully stocked with rice cooker blender toaster food processor and relatively nice pots and pans I also really liked that it has some character it’s got original looking fixtures and antique furniture. It’s nice that it’s not all ikea stuff. The outdoor spaces were also wonderful. John is a super attentive but not intrusive host. He’ll make sure you’re safe and all set up while you’re there. It’s a huge asset to have a host that lives on site so they know what’s going on and are there to help if needed.

Had a great trip at this location. Host John was very friendly and gave tips on places to go and see. The location is great, right on the beach and close to ample eating locations and stores. The house is stocked with all that you will need for the beach - towels, chairs, snorkel gear, etc. The kitchen was fully stocked. Overall very clean and spacious. We would definitely return.

We loved staying here for our girls trip. Highly recommend.

Well maintained, clean, comfortable, lots of amenities, fully stocked kitchen with small selection of spices, stocked bathrooms with towels, washcloth's, soap and shampoo. Landscaping is well maintained. It was great being so close to a calm little beach. The beach is only maybe a 3 minute walk but it’s not right out front. There is a beautiful view of the ocean right out front!
