The apartment is located beside a park and ~10 minute walk to the T line, which is perfect for someone that is looking to park on the street for free, walk to the park, or take public transit into the city. The cleanliness was sub-par and we experienced a good bit of noise was in the apartment (mainly from a pipe beside the washer and dryer), but the location worked great for us.

Property was not cleaned at arrival had to clean ourselves from last guest… jay was quick to respond as we were limited to finding other accommodation at short notice with pets. He brought us a new mattress as the one there was very disgusting all stained up and I was not sleeping on it. Dogs and people upstairs had no consideration of anyone in lower level very noisy.

We booked this property because of the close proximity to Franklin Park as it is right across the street and literally less than a five minute walk. However, the positives end there. The unit had ants and small worms and we found many in the beds! Also, the pictures do not depict the furniture that is in the unit...the couch is filthy and stained and the fold-out mattress in it is disgusting. The extra blankets provided were dirty and we had to wash them. There was no laundry detergent provided however, I had packed Tide pods with so was able to do a few loads. There was only one roll of toilet paper in the unit and when we requested additional rolls it took over 24 hours to receive any. Unfortunately, I cannot give this property a favorable review because of the lack of cleanliness and supplies not being provided.

Great stay over the holidays. We brought our dog and loved the fenced backyard location across the street from a large park. While the property allows pets, it was also properly tidy and clean for our stay. Security was great with two smart-lock doors to get inside the unit. Street parking was easy. The property manager was extremely responsive to any requests leading up to/during the visit, and check-out was super easy. As others have noted, just be aware that a family lives with (friendly) dogs upstairs. Only noteworthy if you are sensitive to noise in the property or have reactive/anxious pets.

Great location and very accommodating host. House was clean, beds extremely comfortable. Best of urban location with lovely home feel! On street parking was a dream and easy to get into downtown Boston, 93 or 128. Many great restaurants to enjoy in JP. Would definitely stay again.

The unit itself was quite nice - clean, well-maintained, heater worked well, nice bathroom and bedrooms. Our only real complaint was that whoever lives upstairs was exceptionally loud from about 6:30-8:00am and 6:00-10:00pm, to the point we were wondering if renovations were going on. I'm not sure if it's a permanently-occupied unit or another Vrbo, but just be warned that the floors don't muffle any sound.

Guests should be aware that this is a lower-level unit with minimal sound insulation. Noise from the family and dogs in the upstairs home is very noticeable, typically starting around 7 a.m. and continuing in the mornings and afternoon. We reached out to the host on the second night about the dogs barking, and they responded promptly and professionally.Temperature control was a bit challenging. The living room stayed cool due to drafts from the AC units, while the bedrooms became quite warm when the heat was on. As with many city environments, we also noticed some rodents in the backyard during the evenings.Overall, this space can work for a short stay if you’re comfortable with noise from above and a livelier city setting, and plan to spend most of your time out. It was difficult to relax in this space during the day due to the noise.

It was located in a great spot for us to visit our daughter. Locks were a little finicky, but other than that everything okay.

Traveling with a car and dog, this was a convenient spot. The access to the fenced in yard and being right next to an incredible park made it easy with our pup. And street parking is free. On the other hand if planning an extended stay where you’ll actually use the living/dining spaces it should be noted that it’s not all as expected. The oven, dish washer and coffee maker do not work making kitchen use a bit frustrating. The living room furniture was dirty and the tv couldn’t be controlled with the remotes. All in all, convenient for a cheaper stay in the Boston area, but not the most comfortable for a long stay where you’ll spend some time at your bnb.

The basement area is a nice apartment. It is very comfortable. The area around this rental isn’t great, though. We heard police sirens throughout both nights of our visit.

Overall very nice stay. We appreciated the ease of parking and general comfort of the space. Nicely decorated, and we love Jamaica Plain. However, the coffeemaker was broken, and there was an ant problem in the bathroom (I know this is likely seasonal, since spring is coming). We also could not find an extra blanket for my sister, who slept on the couch.

Photos did not accurately describe cleanliness and state of the furniture and appliances. The refrigerator did not work. According to reviews left in previous week's it has been broken for at least a few weeks. We were given no heads up about the issue and no follow through with help when we reported it. The place was decently clean except for the couch which is not the couch advertised and covered in stains and animal hair. The location was good. The family upstairs was friendly when we ran into each other. The property manager was responsive but not very helpful at addressing issues. Transparency would have been appreciated regarding the refrigerator so we could have planned ahead. We had to throw out a lot of food. We were planning on cooking in the unit but we're forced to mostly eat out do to lack of refrigeratoon. There were not enough towels for each person. The place has great potential, a few things need to be tweaked and customer service should be improved for a 5* rating

Accomodations were clean. The yard was nice as described. The coffee maker pitcher was not tall enough to activate unit and made a mess. If you push up on the pitcher you can make it work. Shower was slow drain. There were at least 3 roaches. There were a few ants. My husband didn't know there were ant bates and touched one. He got slimy ant poison on his hands. We made reservations with 2 dogs and that was not reflected in paperwork. At night the unit was quiet. From early morning until evening it was quite noisy. It sounded like people were wearing cement shoes. I recommend the upstairs people listen to what their daily living sounds like downstairs. The dishwasher leaked while being used. The refrigerator freezer worked. The refrigerator did not keep my 28 ounce Gatorade cold.
