Johnson City, Texas
Although somewhat height challenged, Napoleon was a brilliant leader and also the center of all attention (he preferred it that way). Therefore, like Napoleon himself, the 'The Napoleon Suite' is in the center and is somewhat shorter than its counterparts. But this suite comes with an abundance of charm, with a large “king” room, a floor to ceiling tiled water “loo,” ornate furnishings, and a triple array of large windows that provide the best view of the Arc de Texas entrance/landscape. The suite is at the center of the second floor of the Arc de Texas and has a king bed, 1 bath with a kitchenette, central air/heat and great fire pit to sit and enjoy the nighttime sky in the Hill Country. You can also use the elevator to go to the rooftop terrace to enjoy your cocktail while taking in the arresting 360 degree views. You only need to pack your overnight bag, we have thought of everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. The suite sleeps 2 people and all linens are provided.
The kitchenette is furnished with coffeemaker (coffee, filters, creamer, sugar, Splenda), pots, pans, 2 burner glass cook top, under counter refrigerator, microwave, glassware, dishes, silverware, linens, serving bowls, cooking utensils, misc. spices, knife block, toaster, paper towels, napkins, basic condiments in the fridge, and spices in the cabinet for cooking, etc.
The sitting area has two oversized leather chairs. You can put your feet up and read a good book, watch DirectTV with movie channels, or head into town and rent a DVD to watch on the television. There is no telephone but there is an internet connection in the house if you really must stay in touch with those everyday hassles!
There is a large fire pit with 'rocking' chairs that you can sit in and enjoy a great fire. There's plenty of wood on the ranch - burn all you want! There is six tables with chairs up on the rooftop terrace that you can use to have a meal outside. In addition, we also have a propane grill for outdoor cooking.
If you wish to bring your dog or your horse we have accommodations for them as well. The back deck is fenced and can be used to contain your dog. We ask that you keep them off the furniture and beds and you are required to bring a crate to house them in when you are away from the suite ($30 per night per pet stay fee - to be added to your quote after you book). For horses, we have a pipe fenced paddock directly behind the Red House with water & feed troughs as well as a run-in and tack area to keep your tack and feed dry (please note that you will need to rent the Red House as well to bring horses).
Lighthouse Hill Ranch is situated in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on 2,001 acres. With this much land it is your own private park to enjoy (see pictures for a map of the property). The ranch consists of rolling hills, incredible 50 mile views, and has one of the highest point in Blanco County. Enjoy the abundance of wildlife on the ranch from cattle, bird watching, deer, turkey, coyotes, armadillos, jackrabbits, doves and variety of other animals.
Rental of any of our houses or suites provides you access to the entire ranch (both tracts), which has numerous springs, over 4,000 feet of clear rock-bottom creek to swim and tube in (and including a unique creekside hot tub and waterfall grotto), 8 ponds to fish, a seasonal waterfall and miles of trails for riding your own ATV and bikes, hiking or riding your own horse.
In addition, we have five other homes on the ranch available for rental (no two houses are within 1/2 mile of each other) as well as 4 suites at the Arc de Texas. You can find them listed here on Vrbo, simply search Lighthouse Hill Ranch and you can see our 9 other rentals.
We look forward to having you at Lighthouse Hill Ranch!

Close to town. Parking lot is not lit at night
Beautiful place quiet and great location
Great view, great place all around great
If you are looking for a different style and place to stay, this is great. Beautiful setting - close to local attractions, great pool for summer heat, and great communication with property manager.
Have driven by the Arc and lighthouse since construction was going on years ago. Found it on Vrbo and what a blessing. Amazing grounds and beautiful views. During these times, a great way to get away, still feel safe. We stayed in the Napoleon Suite. Perfect for two. Brought steaks to grill. Wine and drinks. We didn’t leave the ranch from Friday to Sunday. Family friendly in other ranch houses or suites. Especially loved being able to ride trails in our ATV. Thank you to the owners for opening up your amazing property to guests! I do have to say my favorite was hanging out with at the crystal clear creek. We are truly planning our next stay already! Thank you again for a great stay!
Fantastic!
The moment we stepped into the Napoleon Suite we were thrilled. It's darling. Everything you need for the weekend. It's so cozy and cute and the views are amazing. We will be back for sure. Kathy was wonderful to work with. Highly recommended!
Differently a place everyone should stay at least once.
We had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful view and suites
Gorgeous 360 views of the hill country. The scenery was relaxing and welcoming. The Suite had everything we needed and was very elegant. We gave it 4 stars because we had to do 8 things in order to not be charged an extra $50 on the card. Some of these things were having to sweep floors, run the dish washer, take trash to dumpster, strip bedding. We were already being charged a $50 cleaning fee but if we didn’t do these things it was an extra $50. It would have been nice to just enjoy the getaway without having to worry about all of this.
The ranches are absolutely stunning. Only lost one star because the cable was out one night, road noise and guest noise. We would come back during the summer months to take advantage of the swimming holes. The cows are adorable and friendly too!
