During the construction of De ole School, materials that are resource-efficient or recyclable were used, resulting in a small carbon footprint and avoiding harmful by-products. The heating and ventilation system also follow these principles: the majority of the energy for De ole School is provided through an air-to-water heat exchanger and distributed to the apartments via a low-temperature district heating network.
