Stayed Feb 14, 2024No response from host until VRBO contacted them and they then cancelled with less than 24hrs because the property would not be ready for medical reasons. The island was basically completely booked and we had to find a place for the night on our own with VRBO giving us a stipend towards the accommodation. The next day we managed to find a hotel for the rest of our stay and VRBO offered us an amount towards that a couple of days later through their guaranteed commitment policy. Our bad rating is because of lack of response to our communication attempts, knowing about cancelation earlier may have allowed us to book a replacement apartment and not a hotel. Also, when we first booked we had asked for more photos of property, host said she would send us some and never did. We had to fill out all the fields in order to leave a review even though we did not get to stay there. We have no idea regarding legitimacy of last minute cancelation and this review is not about that specifically but about lack of communication, so ignore the ratings for the actual accommodations.
