NO FLOATPLANE REQUIRED.
When World War II ended, the pilots who had flown missions over Europe pointed their planes north — toward the Quetico-Superior wilderness, the Boundary Waters, and the remote lakes of the Canadian border country. By the late 1940s, Ely, Minnesota was the largest freshwater seaplane base in the United States, with up to 38 flights daily carrying canoeists into the backcountry. A generation hungry for wildness after years of war found it in the deep forest.

This luxury tent captures that spirit, curated with historic Boundary Waters tourism posters and canoe country décor as part of POV Resort's LIVING HISTORY MUSEUM OF CAMPING — AMERICA'S FIRST. Nestled in the trees with a stunning view of the Northwoods, it's the closest thing to the Canadian wilderness without crossing a border.

THE SPACE

ORIENTATION TO GROUNDS

Nature and the deep woods are THE place to be - we are excited to host you at the resort! Coadys' Point of View Lake Resort & Campgrounds is open and following the state's health and safety directive for lodging and camping businesses, working to further ensure your stay is as healthy and as fun as can be! We have purposely kept our campgrounds rustic to minimize disturbing the woods - we took down as few trees as possible to keep the forest intact.

Glamping at POV isn't typical Northwoods seclusion - our campsites are cozy but not as close to each other as an RV park. We feel the amenities on-site and the beauty of the forest and surrounding area more than make up for the snug nature of the campgrounds. With this goal, there isn't enough turnaround for most RVs, travel trailers, and boat trailers in the campgrounds.

QUIET HOURS

POV is a family-oriented campgrounds, and we ask everyone respect the relaxing nature of the woods. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am daily. That being said, while we are in the national forest, keep in mind we are not a completely super secluded area where you won't hear anyone ever...

The property was very nice and well-maintained. We are renting a unit next July and wanted to check it out this weekend. We stayed in one of the retro campers and it was a really neat experience. Bathroom facilities are all clean and the game room and store Facilities were really nice. The owners were on site and were very accommodating and other staff was very pleasant and helpful. We appreciate all that they did for us.

When searching for a weekend get-away, POV Resort popped up. We are so glad it did. Our daughter wanted to tent camp but mom and dad wanted a bed. This was the perfect compromise. Cozy, rustic property yet has all the necessities. We rented one of the pontoon boats too and got to explore the beautiful lake. All staff interactions were friendly and pleasant. Great place.

We were looking for a quieter setting off the road more. You can hear a lot of traffic noise. The quiet hours are adhered to and the accommodations are adequate. The beach and lake were disappointing to use a well. We were expecting a quieter lake for kayaking and relaxing. There are quite a fee power boats and it doesn't have no wake zones. Shower and restrooms were clean and stocked daily. A lot of young kids and families which we were beyond so it was not the resort for us. They tent was super cool and well stocked for clamping. Wasn't our scene for being one with nature.

it was our first time camping with our toddler so we were pretty nervous. we booked a luxury tent to ease into it vs throwing him into our usual camp style of cramming into a 2 person tent! our stay was perfect! they had the option to rent a heater & a power bank. that was a game changer! we were able to keep our toddler warm & have a sound machine. we all slept great! the bathroom set up was perfect & they were extremely covid conscious which i was really appreciative of. we will definitely be back!

This camping experience was phenomenal! The tent was spacious, clean and very comfortable! The bed was fantastic and so was the futon. So many great amenities and the owners were great to work with as well! I have already recommended this resort to others!
