Traverse City, Michigan
This unit of our double unit loft has a nice view out the back windows over looking state street and is like an oversized studio apartment with a small bedroom inside. The entrance to the loft is at the back of the red brick building on the back side. Once you enter the rear door you can go into the Bahia restaurant through the right door or go through the left door to get upstairs to our loft and at the top you’ll enter the shared landing/fourier area. This small area is shared with the guests in the front unit. There is also a laundry room in this area that is also shared along with the entryway/foyer with guests from the front unit as well. The antique french doors on the right of this foyer area is the entrance to this back unit of the loft.
Once you enter there is a beautiful luxurious bathroom with dual vanity and floor to ceiling glass for the stand up shower with dual heads, one of which is also a removable wand. There is also a square toilet around the corner from the dual vanities. We leave out and supply shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for all our guests. This luxurious bathroom also has a custom made barn wood style sliding door.
Immediately after the bathroom on the left hand side is the small bedroom that has a wall to wall queen mattress and a small nightstand. This small bedroom has the same style sliding door as the bathroom and an open vaulted ceiling as well. Once you walk past the bedroom area is the main sleeping area/living room with a small kitchenette in the corner. As shown in the photos we have a king sized bed next to a sofa that sits in front of the large bay windows over looking State Street. We have a large flat screen smart TV with WiFi that has most all of the common streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ to name a few.
Across from the queen bedroom area is a long walk in closet that is used for storing extra linens as well as a twin size roll away bed for extra guests.
This iconic 130-year-old building has 12-foot brick walls handmade with local clay. The renovation restored the original old-growth maple floors, re-purposed the historic doors, windows, and fixtures, and includes custom pieces from local artisans.
Again our main entrance downstairs is shared with the Bahia restaurant below however our door to enter the upstairs is only used by our guests in both of the two upstairs loft units. At the top of the stairs is the shared entryway/foyer that both units share as well as a shared laundry room. Once you enter the French doors into the back unit it is completely private and separated from the front unit with only the one entrance to come and go from. No guests from the front unit have access to the back unit and visa versa. There are large bay windows and a commercial style glass door you can open for a breeze and to look down with a view of State St and we are a 1 minute walk from front street (the main strip in downtown TC). We have a new central AC/heating system and kitchenette that includes Kurig coffee maker, mini fridge (bottled water provided), and cups, mugs, wine glasses provided as well as plates/bowls & silverware to use for all of the many restaurants within a short walk out our back door.
Very nice stay with friends.
Our family originally stayed at this beautiful location in early 2020. We went back just last weekend. We paid nearly double, which is to be expected around the holidays and just overall increase in prices everywhere. Originally, paying double was worth it because we knew we liked the location. Turns out, it isn’t being up kept. The beautiful shower doesn’t work beautifully at all. 5 of the 6 vanity lights were burnt out. Bathroom doesn’t lock. There’s countless warnings in the check in process about needing to keep the property clean and to be careful with things like the blinds and doors. Which is just ridiculous seeing that the bathroom door didn’t even lock. We are not happy with what we paid for at all! Don’t waste your money. Find a location that’s just as central and save your money.
Very comfortable! Decor is spot on for interesting loft experience. I would highly recommend staying here for the close proximity to shopping. Bed is super comfortable. Like any city though the parking sucks, stairs to loft are rough (but the sweetest guy cleaning hauled everything up there for us!!) And the noise below (screaming drunks and garbage trucks) reminded us that we were too old for a steady diet of this life style! But it was sweet for a short time! Thanks Joe!
The unit is nicely decorated, centrally located and easy to access.
The check in process was very simple. The location of this property is perfect if you are planning on walking anywhere downtown. The loft was very nicely decorated.
