Stayed Sep 15, 2025We didn’t get the apartment I booked but the one next door. Location is fantastic; within Lecce old town but down a quiet street so accessible but peaceful. Stairs into apartment are steep but nothing compared to those to roof terrace - they need a bannister. The bedroom was spacious and well furnished and the sitting room was also a good size albeit set up as a bedroom. The kitchen was tiny - a four foot square cupboard. We only made breakfast once and didn’t do any other cooking as it just wasn’t a workable space. There was a pull up table but if that was up you couldn’t access the fridge. Boiling a kettle at head height isn’t great either but was really the only option. I’d specifically booked this apartment as my husband had been at a rowing regatta and was coming directly from there without clean clothes. The facilities listed a laundry but the washing machine didn’t work. When I messaged the host he said this was a mistake, there was no washing machine and that he would change the Vrbo listing. Host communication was sketchy at best. Tried calling several time but they never answered. They did answer Vrbo messages but not very quickly. The cleaner was helpful. Reception had random hours; never knew when it would be open.Overall, the apartment was good. The vaulted ceilings are stunning. Bathroom was a bit tired and kitchen as I said was very disappointing. Lecce itself is beautiful and we ate and drank our way around the old town very happily.

Stayed Jun 8, 2025This was really one of the only times I was disappointed by a VRBO property. I kept emailing and they didn’t respond. I called the night before our arrival and they said they would email me with check in. When they did, they said there was a problem with my reservation, but they would meet me. When I arrived they said their new computer system had lost my reservation that I made in December, but they had a room. So they showed us this beat up room. I had reserved an apartment so, I showed them what I had reserved and they said it was already taken by someone else. I pressed for another apartment and they finally showed us to a nice apartment, that looked like it was still in the process of getting ready to receive guests. Our host had to call and get the okay so it seemed off to me. They weren’t apologetic about not having my reservation but more annoyed that I wanted a bigger room like what I had reserved and paid for. It seemed fine although the living area smelled of smoke being covered up by perfume spray. We were disappointed and the vibe felt off. We stayed for one of the two nights and checked out a day early because it just felt off. To top it off, there was no hot water for our showers in the morning. It’s a cool place, with a lot of potential, but they need to have a better management system for booking and a staff that is welcoming. One star is really all I can give it!

Stayed May 20, 2025Chiesa Greca in Lecce was visually beautiful. It was also quiet for sleeping, especially since it was well located in the historic part of the city. Danilo worked hard to meet our needs. I don't suggest this place if you actually want to cook. It is minimally supplied. There are many places to eat out in the neighborhood. If you are challenged by stairs, this place has a steep staircase of 20 steps to enter the apartment.

Stayed May 24, 2024Great location in old part of town. Beautiful old building built in 1500s. Check in was a bit confusing they accidentally emailed me wrong directions/location and we walked to wrong location, but they did their best and straightened it out quickly. Only possible negatives some might have were a long set of narrow stairs to room and relatively small shower. But we were happy here as these things sometimes come with older, interesting buildings like this

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Great old apartment with large but oddly empty roof terrace areas. Setting is just off a charming area of Lecce old town. Parking was interesting to say the least and was a good 15mins from property. If arriving in darkness I would suggest though research of area beforehand as I was going round the one way system in tight traffic with impatient locals giving no quarter with a hire car with sat nav in Italian only. Kitchen was poor but fuctional with doors ready to fall off but we didn't use it except to boil a kettle. Bathroom tired but worked well. Aircon and WiFi were good - apartment was clean.
