Our small group traveled to Oak Park for a Frank Lloyd Wright tour of the area. This unit was nearby the majority of the FLW homes, so we were able the walk most of the time. Well located for walking to restaurants and shopping, also. The apartment itself needs a major upgrade of its two queen beds and living room seating. The queen mattresses in particular were very thin and uncomfortable, despite the addition of mattress toppers. Several of our group experienced back discomfort after our stay. The living room sofa and both chairs were tired. One felt as if you were sinking down to the floor every time you sat down. This could be an outstanding unit if these important items were upgraded. The kitchen and bathroom had been renovated and overall the apartment was clean.
Four of us spent a week in this lovely Oak Park location. It is a short walk through a tree lined neighbourhood to get to downtown Oak Park where one can access good restaurants and all amenities. It has good access to the metro and a 30 minute ride to downtown Chicago. Michelle and Randy were excellent hosts, answered our questions in a timely manner and provided us with good references on where to eat and how to access services. Thanks so much.
The rental was very clean and very nice, exactly as advertised. The owner was easy to work with and very helpful. We felt very safe in Oak Park. The train station to get into the city was easily accessible. Some of the mattresses could use an upgrade but this wasn't a big deal as we only stayed two nights. I would stay again.
Clean, convienent, spacious and comfortable. Close to the public transportation system yet it seemed there was no need to leave the vibe of Oak Park.
We loved our time at this property. Some of our favorite things were; - The bunk beds! Our kids loved them - The bathroom was nicely remodeled - Huge kitchen table to gather around. - Great host!
The property was very spacious, clean and nicely decorated! It comfortably fit our family of 8 (2 adults and 6 kids). All of the amenities were great as well, including the television, wifi, board games and books that were stocked in the home. These options allowed our kids to keep busy during our downtime in the home! The property was within walking distance to the El train and an average a 30 minute drive to downtown Chicago making it very easy to get to all of our planned activities! The property owner, Michelle, was fantastic! She provided wonderful suggestions on some local restaurants we were interested in during our stay. She was also very prompt to answer any questions we had, either about the condo or questions that related to our plans in Chicago. I highly recommend this location to anyone visiting Chicago in the future!
The property was immaculate and the hosting impeccable.
This 3-BR apartment in Oak Park is spacious and comfortable and is equipped with all the necessary conveniences. The landlord lives downstairs and is very responsive when booking and while you are using the space. Would definitely choose the same apartment on my next trip.
Very homey apartment near downtown oak park.
We loved this location in Oak Park! It is just a couple blocks away from the Green Line El train into downtown Chicago, and maybe about a half mile walk into downtown Oak Park, which is a really cool character area. This is the upstairs apartment, and it looks just like the pictures. Michelle has done an awesome job decorating the place. It was perfect for a family group, and my daughter (9) and her cousin (5) loved the bunk beds in the front bedroom. The other bedrooms and bathroom were inviting and impeccably decorated as well. The kitchen was clean, functional and had all the basic utensils we needed. Michelle even left a bottle of wine, coffee and chocolate for us as host gifts. She also checked with us to make sure the temperature of the unit was good (they are working on getting the unit to operate on a separate thermostat) and helped make our stay easy by calling in our cars for overnight parking on the street. The neighborhood is beautiful too with lots of character houses and we never felt unsafe in the least, even though we are used to smaller-town life. We had no issues at all and would definitely stay here again! Thank you Michelle for your hospitality!
