L'Anfiteatro Nascosto - Sweet Dreams in Florence

Place is located spot on close to all of what want you want to see in Florence. Walking distance from Piazza Del Duomo, next door to Piazza Sante Croce which you can see from the window of the apartment, just to name those two. Check-in was not without anxiety as the number provided to open the main door on the street did not work. Luckily, the landlord was available on Whatsapp for helping and could get the door opened. The apartment was okay. Two down sides: 1) really nothing in the apartment like salt, pepper, oil. So if you are planning to cook on some days, you have to get everything. There was however a welcome bag provided with the bare minimum i.e. a few coffee capsules for the machine, some sugar, and then some soaps and shampoo. 2) The toilet was really stinky. Don't know if related to some plumbing issues but really smelled like sewage in there and had to leave the door closed so that it does not smell in the entire apartment. Bathroom was located just next to the kitchen table. But overall, location was hard to beat. A good spot for visiting just a couple of days as we did.

The location is wonderful and the flat is a nice size. However, be forewarned, it located up four flights of stairs. Please ask the staff about how to work the lighting on the stairs.

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for our 4 days in Florence in early July. While it was very hot in Florence during our stay, the air conditioning never got the apartment below 85 degrees. The extra bedroom is a lift above the kitchen which had a small portable air conditioner that barely worked. My daughter used the pull-out sofa instead as the loft was above 90 degrees. Bathroom was small and functional until the drain backed up and flooded the kitchen, while late on a Sunday we had NO extra towels and so were stuck with the towels we purposely did not use to clean up the flood until sometime on Monday. Between the flood and lack of air conditioning I would NEVEr stay here again.
